I am going to university right now and haveabout a year left untill i get my BS in Accounting. Afterwards, I'm planning on getting CPA and then Masters in Accountancy...
I was just wondering if there are any accountants in here to give first hand experince on how the typical job is and how much they like it...
My ultimate goal is to become a Forensic Accountant, because I like the legal and investigating side of it...

My wife just finished up her degree in December and started working for one of the big boys in January.
She likes it - though she has her complaints. As a first year associate they tend to take advantage of her and pass her around to multiple projects in the area right now - but I imagine its a kind of "pay your dues" type thing.
She's busting her ass for her CPA - has to have it done within 12 months of hire while working around 55 hours a week.
I'll try to talk her into posting in here.

:tucool: :tucool: to your wife for going through the hard work of getting the degree.
Yeah, the requirement for the CPA are ridiculous. Way too many hands-on hours needed to get the license. I'm hoping to start building up hands-on hours by working at a public acconting firm before I get my degree.
Quicker I get the CPA, the higher I get paid and advance in the career :) :) :)
