Everything i read consists of protein shakes, WHAT exactly are they? am i too young for them? where can i get them...? HELP! you can get them online, or at GNC. However if i was you i would do some research before i just start chugging the first shake the guy at GNC recommends :tu: HevyMetal Sat, February 4th, 2006, 06:34 PM Protein shakes are made usually from whey isolate and/or concentrate in powder form mixed with a liquid. ( In many cases, milk), They are classed as a "fast" protein and should not be used at the exclusion of all other protein sources like meat, fish, chicken etc. One of the primary uses for whey shakes is:- Pre-workout drink. Immediate post-workout drink. Whey shake powder is available just about everywhere at food marts, health shops etc. However the brands available through JSF are top quality. Some of the cheaper brands give you a barebones shake powder with IMO too much sugar. If sugar is a problem for you, you may want to shop around. The amount of protein shake plus total protein from other sources that you should ingest per day was first argued the day man set foot on the planet and has never stopped since. Factors that affect amount of protein intake include:- Your weight Your Lean Body Mass Index Your age Your ex program Your fitness goal Your health and medical history. lordkovacs Sun, February 5th, 2006, 03:29 PM i've only heard bad things from GNC. I mean, they sell a wide assortment f stuff, but I heard for the money, you can get much better quality products... again, that's just what I've heard. I personally go to a local shop that I feel offers a good product and price. cheers. MIKE |
