Not sure how to word this question.

How long would it take for evidence of too many calories in your diet to start showing on your body. Take us fellas,..Our gut seems to be what shows first, and goes away last. If you begin to consume too many calories, and didn't step up your routines, would it be say a month?, a coupel weeks?

Likewise, lets say you begin a cut, or just begin to drop your intake a bit without changing your routines, how long would it be, before things would start to tighten up?

I know everybody is different,a s well as the fitness routines we have, but I'm looking for a general guidline on this. I had never really thought about it until recently.

Thanks all,....>>>--->

Try measuring yourself in certain areas. Then if the measurement increase from time, that's when you know you have increase or decrease in size. The time taken really depends on the person, just measure every week and see yuor progress.

I know everybody is different

my reply.

Too much calories on someone like me will show up quicker and more signficantly than someone taller than me or someone who has a quicker metabolism than me. Fortunately height and build will be helpful to me when say, doing a bulk.

I recall reading artound here somewhere that a pound of fat on the human body is about the size of a softball.

Now that would be coming from all over your body at once so imagine unpeeling a softball and adding it to your frame? Not much difference right?

Imagine peeling 20 softballs and adding them. Now you're seeing changes.

I've kind of noticed most people show signs around 20 lbs. (up or down) Anything less than that is usually so subtle not even you notice.

Of course - thats for people who are not overly fat or shredded too. Someone who's already shredded can change pretty dramatically by losing 5 lbs as its usually coming from that last bit of belly fat.

As for the time - hell - thats gonna totally revolve around calories. I proved conclusively you can put fat on at a pretty rapid rate towards the end of last year. I added a solid 40 lbs in less than 90 days - and it wasn't pretty. Taking it off is infinitely more challenging - but if it was easy then everybody would already be shredded.

Thanks guys,..Just trying to get an idea if there was any rule of thumb on this,..Say something like,...Over eat by 500 cals a day for a month, and "X" amount of fat will be created, and so on,...Given all alse is steady,...Work out routines and such,...

Well, the standard rule is that there are 3500 calories in a pound. You can figure out whatever you want from there...

500 cals a day would mean 4 lbs. every 28 days. (1 lb. a week)
