i'm going to start doing cardio every morning and lifting 4 nights a week. would it be bad to do fasted cardio everyday?

Jefe is correct. I wouldn't be doing 7 days of fasted cardio per week, but that's just me. I would recommend you start off with just a couple sessions per week and see how that does you after a few weeks. Then bump it up a bit if you feel the need.

Of course there is more to consider here - diet, macros/cals around the cardio time, type of cardio performed, length of cardio, etc.

Many do it daily with great success.

I prefer 4-5x/week (although I rarely end up doing more than 3x), but that's just me.

Yeah, just see what happens. I run 4-5 times/week, always in the morning, usually fasted (if it would be more than about 90 minutes I"ll get food beforehand/during, but only to keep energy up).

Go for it. Just make sure to eat enough to support the activity. The only way to know for sure whether it works for you is to try it for a few weeks.

What every one says above is absolutely right...bottom line you got to see what works for you.

I did do the 7 day a week fasted AM cardio, lifting 4 evenings a week. I could not keep it up...but while I did, I had great results...and look at my age... if I had great results... so will you.

But be realistic in terms of your schedule and energy. My schedule and the gym's made it prohibitively difficult to get back in the evening that often. And I just did not have the energy to keep up cardio every day. I kept beating myself up about it, resolving to try harder. I ended up often forgoing working out for short periods because I "couldn't do it perfectly" (I have perfectionist issue :p ) and eventually I ended up injuring myself...not from the program per se but from my effort to make myself do what I really couldn't do. And during the injury recovery, I ended up losing most of the gains I made during the period when I did keep up the program.

Now I am trying to be more realistic. I set a minimum of 4 days a week of cardio (which I will not make this week -- only 3x), target for 5 and thrilled if I get in 6 days. I switched my lifting to Total Body work-outs that I do 2 x a week, and it won't be terrible in terms of messing up splits, etc. if I miss a day because of work constraints. And the workout is ideal for 3 x a week for those periods when my work schedule lightens.

Have you already been excersizing for awhile?

If not, I'd think you should give yourself at least a day off per week. If not, you might end up burning yourself out.

If you are in pretty good cardiovascular shape, you can probably pull it off, but it might hurt your progress with lifting

well i was in a good routine all of last summer but took this last fall semester off because i just didnt have time with school. I was doing fasted cardio 3 days a week and lifting 3 day a week alternating but wasnt seeing great results in loosing the rest of my fat so i want to bump up the amount of cardio i do this time. just 50 minutes on an elliptical

GAAA!!! No skipping breakfast!!!

A.M. fasted cardio is good. Have a cup of coffee, do your cardio. Post-cardio, FEED THE MACHINE. I recommend eating within 90 minutes to 3 hours post cardio (low-intensity cardio) or within 30 to 90 minutes if you did high-intensity or interval cardio.

Understandable, but maybe try 5 days a week of cardio. I guess I just think that cardio everyday without break is a bit drastic.

hmmm i remember reading to not eat for an hour after fasted cardio to take full advantage. especialy carbs. not true?

Canjunman is absolutely right! ... fasted cardio means "no eating before working out"... not "no eating." Breakfast after.... I would recommend eating within 45 minutes even if it's low intensity.. I wouldn't wait.

7 days fasted, no cardio at all, both can work (diet is the key)

I know I enjoy one a lot more though :)

Define "BAD" :lol:

Seriously, start doing it and 'listen' to your body. You will know whether it works for you or not in just a few weeks.

I do fasted cardio alternate days, and yoga in-between. I also lift weights three days a week (Planning to bump it up to four days week from Feb onwards). Works very well for me. It increased my flexibility significantly, and I dropped about 16 lbs in three months and feel much more energitic.

But the best part is I sleep so much better now - like a log :D
No more tossing n turning and waking up half-a-dozen times during the night.
And in the morning I wake up feeling fully rested & completely recharged :tucool:

Well it definitely couldn't hurt!! I do fasted cardio almost every day (well, 6 days). Sometimes I eat something before, but that depends on whether I sleep in because if I do that, I can't workout until after my son takes a nap, so I can't starve myself all day! But most of the time, I do fasted cardio, and it's given me awesome results!!!
