Hey everyone. I'm into my 4th month of cutting and was wondering how many of you have done a drastic cut without stepping on the scale, ever. I haven't once, and I am basically judging by the way clothes fit. From just knowing my body and the clothes I wear, im about 30lb down so far.
Anyone else do this?

I've never truly done a drastic cut. But I've dropped from about 11% into the single digits without ever stepping on the scale. Just got bodyfat professionally tested at beginning and end of leaning out. I think you are fine without getting on the scale, though for many people the scale is useful.

There's different viewpoints to this. For me, the scale is a friend. Whether cutting or bulking, you need to know where you stand and there has to be some sort of a measurement. I don't mean that you should use the scale only, but in combination with the mirror and measuring tape, it's sufficient. If you're trying to cut, and you've figured you've lost 30 lbs. - seeing the numbers could give you more motivation. I use the scale, but I use weekly. There's too much deviation daily.

I havent used a scale in a year...Itīs just confusing information I think...I prefer to use the mirror and think about progress when lifting wights. The truth..if it looks good it is good. For me at least. I train to be happy with myself and the way I look...
