CASD Sat, January 21st, 2006, 01:38 PM I'm using Cellmass at the moment because it has Creatine Ethyl Ester in it and is suppose to be less bloating and less water retension..
So far so good
Spicoli Sat, January 21st, 2006, 02:07 PM Go with Creatine Mono if possible. It is supposedly better from everything I've read here.
I just finished my second week with the Mono and I am starting to see some pretty good results as far as building muscle. No side effects like acne or oily skin, no water retention, no bloating at all.
Make sure you drink a good amount of water after you take a dose, however. Last night I took about 3 grams and I forgot to drink enough water and I got some stomach cramps. Nothing serious, but avoidable. Good luck.
Glaive Sat, January 21st, 2006, 02:33 PM Cruise around bodybuilding.com and you can find a few good creatine articles. Jeremy Likness also has one on his website that is a great general creatine guide. Link is here (http://www.naturalphysiques.com/cms/index.php?itemid=153).
Creatine Ethyl Ester is creatine monohydrate with an ester on the end of the molecule. Supposedly this improves absorption into the bloodstream. I've also read several things (and heard from several people who use it) that it negates much of the water retention aka bloating that one experiences with creatine monohydrate.
Likewise, though, I've found plenty of people saying that there's really no advantage and that they work the same. Since some people don't respond to creatine at all, it would make sense to me that some people would simply respond differently to the two types, so perhaps for one person there might be a big difference in results with CEE over monohydrate while for another person there might be none.
I've also had a lot of people claim that with CEE you don't have to do a loading cycle like most people seem to think is needed with creatine monohydrate.
Personally, I say try both and see if you notice a difference. If not, just stick with monohydrate since it's cheaper. I've been using monohydrate for a while and am about to switch to CEE to see if I notice any benefit. If I get the same results with just less bloating then it'll be worth it to me. The best places I've found in terms of price are Bulknutrition.com and All The Whey. BN is actually a buck or two cheaper, but ATW has free shipping that more than makes up for the price difference, so that's where I'm getting mine from.
Hope some of this was helpful.
sc7389 Sat, January 21st, 2006, 02:58 PM CEE powder tastes like crushed vitamin C. :D

You mean like ass? Because that's what legit, bonified CEE is supposed to taste like. And in my experience it has.
sc7389 Sat, January 21st, 2006, 03:20 PM I wouldn't know what ass tastes like, but CEE is extremely sour. Adds some flavor to my diet, imo ;]

Yeah-tastes pretty terrible. Probably the worst-taking supplement I've ever taken, in fact. I didn't know crushed vitamin C tasted bad or see a reason to take it that wya. Unless that was sarcasm that completely went over my head. Certainly possible today.
sc7389 Sat, January 21st, 2006, 03:42 PM Take a 1000mg vitamin C tablet, crush it, scoop it up with a spoon and put it in your mouth. Tastes almost exactly as CEE, possibly less sour.
Gordo Sat, January 21st, 2006, 03:42 PM unsweetened vit C tastes like nuthin' to me since I just swallow and chase it with water.
Creaetine mono for me....works great.... I don't do a loading phase. No bloat, no cramps, and these days.....cheap.
Never heard about acne. I think there's too many variables with acne to say if creatine is a cuase. Unless that's the only change in your diet. Otherwise who can really say? Creatine is usually taken in conjenction with bulks so your fat consumption is likely up (nuts and seeds possibly) can be contributors to increased oil production. Dairy could be a factor as well.

JSBrook is correct - vitamin C doesn't taste like battery acid, which is what CEE tastes like.
Vitamin C tastes kinda good actually. And if your CEE tastes like vitamin C, I bet you got ripped off.

I didn't say it tasted exactly like vitamin C. It's the closest taste I can associate it to. :D
complience Sat, January 21st, 2006, 08:12 PM when you guys talk about bloating..
are you refering to water retention in the skin, or a bloated stomach?
oh and in my travels i found another supliment called Androstenedione anyone used this stuff?
sc7389 Sat, January 21st, 2006, 08:47 PM Heh. Andro's not a supplement. That's a prohormone. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You're wrong as of January of 2005 - it's now classified as a steroid.
If you live in the US anyway.
sc7389 Sat, January 21st, 2006, 09:52 PM Grr. I'm not up to date on that stuff. ;]

Well, it's not a steroid. But, it is just as illegal as one.
