I'm not yet at a place to begin a bulking diet, but I'm looking forward to it and trying to figure out how I'll do it.

My goal is to be at 4000 kcal/day. Using fitday.com, I'm up to 2300 kcal. I already have more than my weight in pounds in grams of protein. 242 g protein = 968 kcal (46%)
130 g carbs = 455 kcal (21%)
78 g fat = 701 kcal (33%)

This is from a diet of oats, cottage cheese, ground beef or turkey, cheese, yogurt, chicken breast, and tuna.

Where do I go from here?
Where should I get the other 1700 kcal?
Is adding a protein shake advisable?
Is it possible to have too much protein?

Thanks for your input.

You're bulking? Man, add at least as many carbs as your protein total (depending on your weight and % bf you have plenty of protein likely, you don't need more)....

possibly around 300g - 350g of carbs and see how that works for you.

Way more carbs...potatos, sweet potatos, lentils, brown rice, barley etc...

Don't forget fruits and veg.

A little more good fat wouldn't hurt.

I'm thinking plenty of pasta and potatoes.

Peanut butter for fat.

Add Carbs

Steel-cut oats, brown rice, dextrose
Is adding a protein shake advisable?
Sure if you want, but add other ingredients to it.
Is it possible to have too much protein?
It is possible to have too much of anything, but I doubt you have too much protein right now.
