Ok well I was eating a Fruit Leather today and read the back label. And as far as I can see they aren't bad for you. Infact they seemed kind of good. Is this true?

TheLemonSong Wed, January 18th, 2006, 01:11 PM They have sugar just like fruit, but they're *certainly* better than fruit rollups!! The ones I've had were 100% organic and all natural... I guess I'd liken this to eating natural applesauce. Is applesauce bad for you? Eh, yes and no...it might have a bit too much sugar but its far better than most snacks of that ilk. doordude42 Wed, January 18th, 2006, 01:32 PM They have sugar just like fruit, but they're *certainly* better than fruit rollups!! I'd eat real fruit though and save the leather for your shoes. swole Wed, January 18th, 2006, 10:10 PM Ok well I was eating a Fruit Leather today and read the back label. I noticed that they are made with apple puree and other fruit puree. Have you considered just buying unsweetned natural applesauce and throw in a few grapes, cherries or other fruit? You can easily put this in a small container and take it with you. It would be better because it would not be as processed and have more minerals and fiber. |
