View Full Version : Eating multiple times on cheat meal day?

I was just wondering who still eats every 2-3 hours even on days with cheat meals. Today I ate a good bit of pizza and still wasn't hungry four hours later. Is it better to force yourself to eat something, or just forget about it? Also, would forcing yourself to eat help you out in the long run by metabolizing the cheat meal better or faster? I'd like to minimize the potential fat gain as much as possible. Thanks

I've wondered this, too, but always made the decision based on how much I was deviating from my diet. If I really packed in a ton of food (say, eating a whole pizza or gorging myself on baby back ribs or something), then I'll probably abstain from eating until I feel hungry or at best eat something like a salad that has very little in the way of calories (plus it helps all that other crap digest).

I have a cheat day instead of a cheat meal. I make sure I get enough protein though on that day. Normally I eat throughout the day but on cheat day like you said one large cheat meal will keep the hunger away for awhile but I try to eat at least a few times on that day.

When cutting, I allow myself one cheat meal per week which takes place on Sunday afternoons and consists of mom's pasta and a couple of meatballs. I follow my regular 6-8 meal schedule regardless.

Absolutely. Making sure you get in enough water is key also to help flush the excess sodium from your system, even though you'll hold a few pounds extra of water weight anyway the day after.

Thanks everyone. That just confirms what I thought. I guess it's better to keep that metabolism burning and run the risk of slightly going over calories for the day. Thanks for the help.:tucool:
