My friend was going to buy a CrossBow for $1000 and I said he is NUTS! I assume for that price you can get a GREAT home gym for free weights. However, since I never bought one, I don't know where to look.
Can someone please show me where I can help him look at some good benches/weights, etc to buy. I really like John's set up with the adjustable bench and adjustable safety spotter. I know that's the powertec bench, does it come with the spotter/dip part as well or is that from somewhere else?
Please help, I need to save this guy from wasting a lot of cash!
Thanks!

www.newyorkbarbells.com or www.megafitness.net. Further down the posts in this section corbint has a post going regarding some good equipment and a few places as well. I don't know how to copy threads sorry. I just got my Powertec bench as did many others on the forum and I like so far. It's just a bench with the leg attachment. I got it for $179 but I think the price went up recently to $229. I do know members are getting great deals with bench, racks, weights etc. You don't have to spend anywhere near $1,000 for a decent set up. Scroll through the equipment section or check out the above links for ideas.

You can get the Powertec equipment at Fitness Factory Direct. Ask for Bill. I bought the whole deal. I first got just the cage, then the lat/pulldown seperately. It's cheaper to get it all at once. 699.00 for the whole system without the bench. The bench is 229.00. Also, like John said at Home Gym Warehouse. But I got it much quicker from Fitness Factory. I got the free weights and all the other stuff at Wal-Mart for a great price. Olympic barbells, dumbells, plate weights and the whole deal. Good Luck!
