Just wondering, it seems as though John's webpage is exploding with visitors. I'd like to know how many visitors (hits) you've been getting since the new year...?

First, I should point out that the number of unique visitors is not the same thing as the number of hits. A "hit" is anytime someone pulls any single object (image, page, document, et. al.) from the server. A unique visitor is just counted once per day.

Since January the site has been getting between 1.5 million and 2 million hits per day, with a record of 2.3 million hits in a single day (Jan 15, 2004). The number of unique visitors each day usually ranges between 25,000 and 35,000 with a single-day record of a little over 41,000 (Jan 15, 2004).

Whoa 25,000 thats a big load of unique visitors.. just think if you had a FITNESS STORE and 41,000 people came on jan 15 You'd be making a lot of money lol
