I have been doing bent back rows with about 80lbs in total with proper form and I keep having a muscle in my lower back "pop" is the only way to describe it.
It feels like a slight pull and is very annoying as I do not want to REALLY injure my back.I looked it up and it looks like the fascia covering the gluteus area that is affected but it just feels like a small tight ball right now.
Any ideas what is happening and how to do some other exercises to help this to stop??
I do back ups every other day without any pain -100 reps
thanks

You could cut out the bent rows. I find that personally to do bent rows witha barbell using a weight sufficient to stress my lats, my lower back can't support it well. This is not a mandatory exercise, and one in which you can surely do damage if your back isn't properly aligned.

Might also be that you have some tight muscles back there. You should definetely check it out though. Back pain is very depressing and limiting.
