I have been reading around the forums here for awhile and recently decided to join. I have been trying to find information to answer my questions before I asked one, I didn't want to repeat, and I haven't seen anything about this.
I have a pretty solid leg work out that I do. But I am completely clueless on a good upperbody work out. Does anyone have any tips or examples of what they do? I really want to get a good full body work out in so anything is appreciated.
Thanks

First and foremost, learn about all the muscles in your body.
http://www.exrx.net
is a great resource to learn about your upper torso and all its muscles
Secondly, read and learn about the possible excercises you can do for each muscle group.
Muscle & Fitness
Men's Health
are both great magazines to get you general ideas of some excercises
Third, practice GOOD FORM with very light weights. It'll take some practice to get it down.
Fourth, get serious with the weights once you've mastered the movements.
For starters, learn about:
Shoulders
Chest
Back
Triceps
Biceps
Abs
many of the excercises will hit multiple muscles....subsequently, you'll have to carefully plan out your weekly training schedule...
if you worked out your biceps on monday, get extremely sore the next day; you're obviously going to have some problems trying to execute a back workout on Tuesday
I hope this post helps in letting you know what you're getting yourself into.

Wow thanks for the reply. It looks like I have a lot more research that I need to do.

Start with the basics. There are a TON of good routines, so pick one and start with it. Try it for a few weeks, and decide if you like it.
Consider the number of trunk rotation exercises in there, as well as the standard push/pulls. These rotational things help protect your back and will help you become a better athlete. It depends on your goals.
Last but not least, a routine isn't just the exercises and order. It's about form, tempo and rest between sets as well. These are VERY important (as you probably know from your lower body stuff - sorry if that was redundant). When in doubt, start with less weight, and use perfect form - it may not get the same speed of growth, but you take injury out of the equation by doing that.
