well all, it's my bday. I've done well in the last two months by losing about 25 lbs. I feel great. I also have been pretty good by curbing my alcohol consumption dramatically. However, it is my bday (actually was wed. but am celebrating tonight). Which alcohol is the least evil as far as retaining water, and carbs, etc.... what about those low cal/carb beers? I know they;re not the answer, but in a pickle, are they not better than regular beer?

Thanks...

Mike
PS...I don't drink liquor, so coolers aren't any good for me...

Don't fall for the marketing hype of low calorie this or that. If you want a beer, have one. It's not going to be the type that is a big deal, but how much you allow yourself to drink.

Personally, I find that if I drink a few glasses of red wine, I actually lean out and tighten up a bit, whereas beers make me bloat and puff out.

It's your birthday. You only get one per year. Don't make it an excuse to get so drunk you're not able to celebrate the next one, but also don't spend too much time burning calories trying to figure out the right drink. Pick what you like, and enjoy in moderation.

Amen!! Always appreciate the voice of reason and moderation in your posts Jeremy. The thought that this has to be a thread within your life, as opposed to the entire fabric of it rings very true. Thanks for all of your posts and insights.

thanks for the advice Jeremy. I did have a few and didn't worry about it. The scale the next day showed that I gained 2 lbs. That sucks, but I guess it could have been a whole lot worse. I did have some control over myself which was great!.

cheers, and thanks...

got my bday coming up on xmas eve, told all my family & friends that I won't be drinking at all over xmas, no one believes me

I can have just as much of a laugh without drinking watching everyone else being drunk!

If you decide that you're not going to enjoy your birthday in moderation, then you might opt for a gin/vodka and diet tonic. With a squeeze of lime, those are great. I think there are no carbs in vodka and gin. When you mix them with diet tonic, you've got a tasty, refreshing drink with no carbs and only 65 calories per one oz of liquor. It's worked for me. Happy birthday!!!:D

Does it? From one day to the next you can have that from water retention, etc., no problem. Especially since you went outside your routine the day before.
