I am training to be playing hockey in 7 months at a high competitive level. I want to lose fat while making solid gains in the weight room, but i also want to maintain doing lots of cardio.

Is it possible to make good gains in the weight room while still doing alot of cardio (5-6x a week)? If i eat right will i be able to get the desired effects of both? Will cardio mess up muscle growth?

im 6'0.5", 190- probably around 16-17%. Would 3500 calories a day be a good amount- say losing 600calories a day from running + lifting 4 days a week... i really need both of these aspects of fitness.

thanks!

Of course you can still gain muscle while doing a lot of cardio. :) Just adjust your diet.

To achieve optimum muscle growth without any cabolism of cardio, you could keep the sessions relatively short and highly intense, as opposed to long and grueling.

Some swear by it, most consider it useless.

After having used it for almost a year, you can count me in the latter group.
