It can be a good thing to do, but especially when cutting, it's really not that bad. It's important to get your shake in. It's good to get some carbs quickly, too. A piece of fruit or some oats will do the trick - the dex just acts faster to move you out of a catablolic state quickly. Depends on what your goals are and where you are at in your program. karatetricker Fri, November 11th, 2005, 11:18 AM I don't use any supplements PWO and I'm doing just fine. :tucool: wh0rume Fri, November 11th, 2005, 11:38 AM depends completly on your nutrition otherwise. if you're at a maintainance or bulking diet (non-caloriedeficit), i'm under the impression a PWO shake isnt even nessessary. Muscle rebuilding takes place over 36 hrs. but - it's different if you're on a cutting diet. Chris Mason, Mastover, or Jeremy could probably give you a more indepth explaination. personally, i would NEVER skip my PWO shake, but that's simply because i can take a large dose of sugar guilt-free. RamRom Fri, November 11th, 2005, 11:43 AM i only have 2 scoops of protein and thats it karatetricker Fri, November 11th, 2005, 11:45 AM i only have 2 scoops of protein and thats it Ahh, well, IMO that is very bad. Carbs are far more essential here, so I would either have that shake in skim milk, add some simple carbs and/or oats or at the very least add a couple servings of fruit. RamRom Fri, November 11th, 2005, 12:24 PM right now i'm bulking. swole Fri, November 11th, 2005, 02:17 PM i haven't been taking dext or any other type in my post work out shake. so, is this VERY BAD, BAD or NOT TOO BAD Take in some carbs both pre and post workout with your protein shake, then have a meal with protein and complex carbs an hour or two after your PWO shake. Do this cutting or bulking, just adjust the quantities. You don't need dex or malto. They won't make your muscles bigger. The only thing dex and malto make bigger is the lining of your arterial walls as they thicken with triglycerides. |
