From what I read in MuscleMag Glucosamine sulfate is more effective than any combo mixture. I can get you the citation if you like. I'm taking 1000mg of Glucosamine Sulfate 2 times a day. I get mine at GNC for about $13 for 90 tablets.

I get mine at Kent Nutrition, $14.95 for 300 capsules. :)

What is the mg of the capsules at Kent Nutrition. Mine are 1000mg each.
I will be needing some more soon. If Kent Nutrition is comparable or cheaper then I'll consider ordering some.
Thank you:

Justitia Sat, November 12th, 2005, 08:10 PM I was diagnosed a year and a half ago with the cartiledge being worn under my right knee cap, though this was more due to age than anything else. I had started getting back into working out in a relatively serious way but I had not yet found JSF. I was doing cardio at a fast pace walking speed (not running) on the treadmill and the eliptical trainer and I was doing body pump classes which are high reps really designed for women who want to "tone" so the weights on the BB never got over 60lbs and I did lunges.
The pain was so great that I could not walk up the stairs out of one of the gyms I worked out in. It continued to deteriorate til I started not being able to go up or down the stairs without a lot of pain.
After I went through a round of treatments with physical therapist as soon as I started back again working out, the pain came back.
By that time, I found JSF and mentioned it and a number of people mentioned Glucosomine & Choindroitin. Ironically, the same week, a medical doctor friend of mine who had her own problems with cartiledge etc. recommended this, said it saved her.
I was wary, I was not big on supps (boy what a change) but I decided to take the leap of faith. I happen to stock up on Pioneer's formula which includes MSM and I am still using up my supply (I buy in bulk for discounts --or I probably would have gone to Kent, since at the time I bought the Pioneer, I had not known about Kent). Most of my other supps are from Kent today.
Anyway, I had just posted recently on JSF (but I couldn't find it), that I realized that the healing has been so great that I had actually forgotten I had the problem...until something I read brought it to mind.
So, do I think it works?...yeah, I definitely do.....:tu:

Yours - 1000mg X 90 at a cost of $13.00 = .145 cents per gram
KN - 650mgX300 at a cost of $14.95 = .076 cents per gram
Yours are roughly twice the cost of the KN brand. You will find this is true of pretty much anything we carry.
Skoorb Mon, November 14th, 2005, 10:53 AM I've used it and it does seem to have helped my knees. i continue to take 1500 mg day of the gluco + chondroitin.
You may want to rest your knees for a while and even ice them a couple of times/day. Fish oil, with its omega 3s, may be of some benefit, too.

I noticed on the Kent Nutrition site the Glucosamine Sulfate Potassium is 565 mg of Glucosamine Sulfate. You probably should put that in your calculation.
Also there is shipping.

Still cheaper with shipping. I assume the drive to GNC would cost something in gas, and if you use two gallons, you are back to start again. Of course, even if the GNC guy personally delivers it on their dime, we are still cheaper.

Please please don't tar and feather me but I must commit a heresy and proclaim to the world that the GNC owner gives me 20% off the cost of the Glucosamine when I buy during Gold Card days. I know the card costs extra but it still isn't much over a year of purchases. Also I only live about a mile or two from GNC...they're everywhere.
Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against Kent Nutrition and I will continue to check they're prices when I make purchases. I believe in buying in bulk at low prices but in my case it just makes sense to make my purchase elsewhere. Good luck and god bless.

Good luck and god bless. In person is convenient, though I've found that even with the GNC gold card, it's still more expensive than a good, cheap place. GNC's prices are mostly bad, though the price of the stuff you're taking doesn't seem outrageous.
Glaive Mon, November 14th, 2005, 07:41 PM I can see where you're coming from, but for me I'd even pay a little more to get it from Kent since they have such great service and I'm more likely to remember to order something online (which I can do whenever) than I am to remember to drive to a store during business hours, which I tend to forget to do with my schedule. I've been needing to go buy sunblock for weeks now and I still haven't done it since I never remember until 1 in the morning.
As it is, however, I not only get more convenience (for me) with Kent but I also save money, so it's all good.

Yeah like 6 months at a minimum is a good estimate, I think...
HevyMetal Mon, December 19th, 2005, 07:02 PM I cannot prove any of the following scientifically buuuut:-
I had a couple of twings and blips in tendons a while back.
One was in the elbow (tennis elbow but not from tennis)
the other one was in and about the left kneecap. I say in and about because it tended to move from point to point around the kneecap.
So I started taking Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM combined in one tablet.
One tablet contains Gluco 500mg, Chondroitin 400mg, MSM 400mg.
I was taking 2 a day. This didn't seem to help much.
Now I take at least 6 tablets a day plus 3 wild fish oil tablets spaced out at intervals.
I've been doing this for quite some time.
Along with a higher water intake and believe it or not "Jello", this seems to be working.
In fact Gelatin is very good for joints. I read somewhere that Jello has come out with one called NutraJoint but I haven't located it locally yet.
I purposely avoided ex's that directly worked the inflicted area.
With alittle research you can usually find one that's an effective contributor or substitute.
I'm pretty well back to where I was before now workout-wise.
But I think I'm going to stay on the regimen I described anyway. I may even try upping the intake further.

Does KN do shipments overseas? For example, mmmmm..., to Israel?
