Hi Everyone, I'm new here.
I am male ,27 yrs old,5' 9" at 157 lbs
My issue regards my abs...
I cant get a sixpack!!!
I have a 4-pak but I want more.
I train my abs 3x a week and
my training consists of:

Reverse Crunches
Swiss-ball crunches
Flutter kicks
Side Crunches
Reach Throughs
Half\Full situps
and a few other variations

I do about 6 exercizes 30reps each for
a volume of 180-200 reps total
I always perform my reps with
controlled motion and squeeze
,pause at the top
I think I do well with my ab training and
I am certainly washboard BUT what happened
to the extra line in my stomach??? When I
look in the mirror I see 4 defined areas but below that is
flat space that has no definition...
maybe I'm too fat??? (note I'm thin and buff...no bulge )
thanks for any ideas

I like the way you've laid out your text, I thought you had written a poem or something. Looks like you're going to have to lose some more fat covering your lower abs. As I've mentioned elsewhere, most people with awesome abs seem to be doing high reps. Personally, I've been doing both, two times high rep (controlled!) abs work, and one time low rep using weights when not training the obliques. Can't tell you if it works, yet. :D

hi,paul
You not mention about nutrition,so I post this pointer.

Maybe you know about 6-pack related articles.
But I hope this were helpful to you.
I think you have done good workout for 6pack.

thanks

It's easy to see why you haven't revealed the full six-pack ... because you're asking the wrong questions!

That's okay, it's a mistake many people make. You are asking all about ab workouts and the routine. If you really want to see your six-pack, you should be asking about nutrition.

Tighten up your nutrition and lose a little more fat and you'll reveal the bottom layer.

I've never in my life done any crunches or any other ab excercises, but I still have a six pack...

Eat healthy. Lose that fat. Your lower torso has more fat than the upper area, hence the reason why your upper abs are clear yet the lower ones aren't. But it's kinda weird that your upper abs are clearly defined and you can't even see the lower ones...

Maybe you have something like Marcus schenkenberg. He has a weird four-pack:

Is the four-pack genetic or does it have something to do with the way he trains his abs?

Great advice.
I think the centered, differently-fonted approach is
what we should use for morning threads.
It's so much more soothing.

Thanks everyone!
Yes, the diet + cardio makes sense. I read the link ij-shl posted
and it does 'click'.
I probobly overdue my abs big time...recently I suffered a knee injury
so my running routine is put aside for a bit...but I WAS well on my
way to gettint 'ripped' .
I ship out for NAVY Basic training Jan 4th...I wanna be in top-shape
when I arrive so I won't sweat it there.
Thanks again,
BTW if you all havent heard or tried...Get Fitdeck! Great ,fun, tool
Use it every day

focus less on crunches and situps
focus more on cardio and food
and before you know it, i promise this
you'll be a 6-pack having dude.

:D
Just messing with ya. Anyway Jeremy is right. Let's see your diet, cardio, and weightlifting routine. Your ab workout is unorthadox in a way but not necessarily bad. Let's see the rest of your program though.

Welcome to JSF.
