So I decided that I would incorporate a cheat weekend (sat & sun) this past weekend into my cutting diet....I weighed 135 on Friday morning and it is now monday night and I weigh approx 143 and my body definitely looks and feels different.

Looking back, my "cheat" food consisted of goldfish crackers, lots of pretzels, peanut butter, a few granola bars, honey nut cheerios, and some chocolate halloween candy. What a mix, right?

Anyway, I feel bloated and awful. Is this water weight or should I add 10 extra cardio sessions this week? HELP.

water mostly. drink lots of it. a cheat weekend might be a little much. you snacked through the weekend and it sure seems like a lot of salt. doing some extra cardio may help shed some water also.

try not to do cheat weekends. cheat meals are good for your sanity and cheat days are even better for your sanity but not so great for your diet. if the other six days are good the one bad day probably wont hurt much but two days may.

lol i feel you dude, but I use every weekend as a cheat weekend.

I go from eating like a 1900-2000 calorie diet to eating like ... 3000-3500 calories on a weekend! Although, I don't gain any weight and if I do it, it comes right off. I consider the extra calories as a boost to my metabolism. Either way, I burn alot of calories on the weekend, lot's of activity on the weekend.

Yeah don't worry about it man. Like the other guys said its probably water weight. To give you an idea my weight fluctuates about 10 pounds a day. When I wake up I weigh in at about 160. By the end of the day I'm 170. The next morning I'm back to normal.

I was just like you at one point. I always worried about my weight. When I learned how my body worked I was able to keep a much higher degree of sanity. Anway your cheat weekend proably reved up your metabolism so although you may have gained some unwanted weight, it'll probably be easy to burn.

My personal suggestion is to stray away from cheat weekends. Most people that I've seen 'treat themselves' do it once than over and over again. However you should be fine. In my opinion even though your stressed about your weight gain, its only because you actually give a shit about your goals.

Most people would say only one day won't hurt me. Then it becomes two, then three, next thing you know their back where they started. I guess what I'm saying is stay focused and be careful, and like so many other people have probably told you already, if you want it enough you'll get it.

Also give your body time to heal. When I took a week off to allow my muscles to heal I gained five pounds of lean mass while cutting. You do to much cardio you'll sacrifice your hard earned muscle. Remember every pound of lean muscle can burn 30 to 50 calories a day (fat burns about 2 calories per pound). Thats why everyone here stresses weight lifting over cardio. When I took a week off to allow my muscles to heal I gained five pounds of lean mass while cutting.

Sorry for ranting

Thanks! How long does it typically take you guys to get the water weight off? My body is holding on to it or something...or it could be fat? It is weird to think that I was at 135 on Friday and looked great! No more cheat weekends....

For me it gradually comes off over the next couple days, but by the third-fourth day I'm a bit lower than I was before it.
