As I am taking more interest in my health and nutrition I have become interested in the science of the whole thing. Since I am tracking what food goes in my mouth I am interested in taking and making better use of my time in the gym.

I am looking for a Heart Rate Monitor. My first thought was buy the highest model Polar that I could afford, but after some investigation I am not sure if there are some better 'off' brands and I am not positive what features I need.

Thanks,
Jeremy

making better use of my time in the gym.

I am looking for a Heart Rate Monitor.

In the gym, a lot of equipment can use the POLAR transmitter bands.

The HRM I use the most is Polar F11. There are other models that are probably as good but the F11 covers all my bases. One big advantage of the F11 is that it can estimate your VO2max based on resting heart rate. This makes it's calorie counts pretty accurate.

zenpharaohs you sold me. The F11 was a bit more than I wanted to pay, but after considering all the options I decided it was the best deal.

Hopefully it will be hear on Wed. and I will get to try it out on Thursday.
