hi

i have 2/3/4 months to really get myself fit for an army test but dont really know what im doing. i really do want to get serious with it but havnt got much money to put in for it. im unemployd and STAYING unemployd so i can use the whole day/week/month to really GET IN SHAPE.

the test im doing is a 2 day course which involves all sorts of tests.. upper body, lower body, LONG DISTANCE RUNNING :( and aload of others. the only 1 im really worried about is the long distance

to get into para training i need to run 1.1/2 miles in 9.34 mins :d_mad:
right now i cudnt do 1/2 mile without being completly done over

I NEED HELLLLPPPPP

so iv been reading, reading and reading some more on LOADS of websites. what i need is a whole week training programme.

including what food i should be eating, when i should be eating it, how much sleep i should be getting and the rest! if someone could give me a good website or even sort out a training programme for me i would REALLY apreciate it! or even just some simple ideas on what i should be eating would be wicked.

thanx for reading

You wont get far with posts like that.

With all this time on your hands, read and design your own programme. Then come back and post your programme and let others here critique it.

No one is going to design you a tailormade program while you sit there. Get out there and read.

Chris,

I have been at this diet and weight lifting thing for years - and I am still learning - its all about your own body and listening to it. What works for someone may not work for you. Sure the general principals are the same, but you need to do the refining.

With that being said, check out all the stickies on the top of this forum and the Fat Loss forum (whatever the 2nd forum is called). They all contain EXCELLENT information and should put you on the right track.

This board is loaded with knowledgable people who will help with any question you may have along the way. Come up with a routine/diet - post it and have people critque it. The board has been around for almost 2 years now so its LOADED with any question you could probably think of - just do a search and you will find it!

You will do fine! Good Luck!

All im saying is that no one is going to spend their free time creating the perfect super programme for you for nothing, which is what you asked for. Especially after you just said you have 4 months of sitting on your ass ahead of u.

Why ask someone to recommend you a website if you aint able to read it coz your eyes hurt ? You want a website which will give you the answers, you're already there. Try pressing the search button. Or buy a book if the monitor hurts ur eyes. If you are too lazy to create your own program, chances are you will be too lazy to stick to any program i or anyone else here created for you. Its about making the change yourself, not getting others to make it for you. That never works. If you cant be bothered to read, then i doubt you will be bothered to stick to a program. If you have done lots of reading already, then you will know what the basics of a programme are and can make a better first post then "make me a super program etc". If you get conflicting info, and you wanna know what this place thinks, search for your answers, read.

Like i said, if you wanna go off, read, learn, create something and come back and ask QUESTIONS, then thats fine. But "Do everything for me" is to broader question. People here are always happy to help, answer questions, make recommendations etc, but you gotta do your own groundwork. And try not to call people assholes.

no need for posts like that Reno_1ted arsehole i was just asking, thats what i thought these forums were for.

Statements like that are a sure-fire way to deter others from helping you.

Reno, whether you realized it or not, was trying to help you. Having been around here for such a long time, he knows that those who come out of nowhere and ask for someone to design a program for them do NOT get much, if any help. Why? Because it's a time consuming process and not many people are going to spend their time writing you out the "perfect plan" when you haven't put forth an ounce of effort.

If you've done all the reading you claim to have done, you would certainly have an idea where to start. If you don't, then go to the top of the forum and look at the Nutrition sticky and that will get you started on diet.

You need a special kind of training program it seems and you know what the test involves. Therefore, YOU know what you need to do. The only way to better yourself in the areas you'll be tested in is to continually work on the things you'll be tested on over and over. Increase the difficulty every few days and you'll continue to get stronger, faster and get closer to your goals.

This will be my last post in your thread(s) until you act like a mature adult.

Fat loss guide for beginners

Nutrition guide for beginners

Endless fitness links with great info

If you actually read (or even skimmed) those, you would be very clear as to where to at least start. Then, you can come up with a preliminary plan for yourself, post it here along with any questions and many people would be happy to help you. This is not a forum for babies to be spoon fed. Everyone here has put in the effort, why should you be any different, especially with such an attitude?

Your eyes hurt looking at the monitor? Print them.

Even my last post offered you some advice, but apparently, since I didn't write you out the "amazing perfect program", my help wasn't sufficient.

Oh hey, guess what!!? You're lazy.

Visit the "resources" sticky thread and download the MAX-OT pdf. It's a free, complete program and it should help you a lot. It is a decent program too.

C'mon Bro. Nobody's gettin' in your shit. They speak the truth. This fitness stuff takes work and dedication. YOU have to put the time in. Calling Reno an arse certainly ain't gonna make you any friends here.
Do a little research.

And, to add to this complete perfect amazing program, I recommend the 6 second abs: http://www.seenontv.com/prod-pages/6_sec_abs.html

If you need to do a lot of running for your test, then you should practice... running. Perfect program? Run as far as you can and when you can't go any further, start walking. Repeat this until you complete 45 minutes of running/walking. Increase the amount you run each day until you reach the length you need to run. Then each day decrease the time it takes for you to complete that run. Practice, practice. :) Or every other day with strength training in between. It all depends on what works best for you and your schedule.
