Wierdness personified...

Last weekend I went to my grandparents house to visit my dying grandfather - sad I know - and because of this fact I thought it right that I should forget my diet for the two days I was up there.

Cue 2 days of binging on sweets, coke, beer and kebabs. Knowing I was going to weigh about 100 pounds more when I got home I was annoyed, but at least I got straight back into my routine. I had put on about 6lbs and was at 11.4stone. I figured most of this would go after a big poo but I
was still annoyed that I had set my transformation back 2 or even 3 weeks.

So I was extra strict this week and stuck fiercely to my 1500 cal a day limit though being the lazy sod I am I still managed the gym only 3 times. :p Well by this Friday morning I was down to 10.13 and feeling better because not much of the food had stuck on me.

On friday I figured I'd have my cheat meal (even though I still felt guilty about the weekend - but hey I like food :D) and so indulged in a victoria ring cake (basically icing sprinkled with bread :p) - it was scrumptuous. I also got 'forced' to eat a pizza slice when my brother ambushed me with it/ ;).

I didn't have time to weigh myself this morning because I had to jet to work and was late. At work I am surrounded by food and was picking at the bread all day, I had some cake and a cookie. When i got home I had some pizza. I'm such a weakling. :D

Well anyways, I figured I'd just weigh myself before I go to bed and I was surprised - no, wait, AMAZED to see that I weighed in at 10.8. I thought my scales were joking so I did it again, and again, 4 times in glorious total. Each time depicting the same awesome tale - I was a my target weight for the week.

Weird huh...

Now I figured this was probably because of 2 main reasons:

1. The increase in calories at the start of the week boosted my metabolism to such a rate that my normal calorie intake was decimated by its sheer digesting prowess thus the loss in weight.

2. The 2 day binge of food with no water left me with alot of water weight which magically fell of between friday and Saturday.

What are your thoughts people??? It's wicked!!! :D

1500 a day? Unless you are a petite person, about 5'2" and 110 lbs you are eating way too little.

If you eat too little- your body will be very stingy in losing fat.

You cannot starve away fat. So your body got more of what it needed and responded in kind.

I average 2 lbs a week, I'm about 150lbs. 5'7. Thats what the BMR calculations told me.

How old are you and about what body fat %?

Hort's right, 1500 calories is way too low.

Did you take into account an activity multiplier to figure total expenditure? BMR is just what it takes to keep you breathing if you are sitting on a couch with no movement.

Agreed that you are on too few calories (assuming that you move at least 5 feet per day), and need to up it - though not with victoria ring cakes. Food is not the enemy in the battle of the bulge. Too much food and bad food are the guys you have to watch out for. Beware the empty calorie.

Nice progress so far. :tu:
