Here and on other sites i've seen people talk about their "12 week challenge". Are there any resources out there that talk about the "12 week challenge". I'm ready to start a new lifting program and i'm not quite sure where/how to begin. There are sooo many resources out there.. each with their own philosophy. I like the idea of a 12 week challege to get me back into lifting and motivate me to make a lifestyle change. Anyhoo... this monday marks 12 weeks till my (gasp)... 30th birthday. I began a new nutrition program this week and i'm already down 5 lbs. to 292. I stand 6'4" so the 292 isn't that obscene. I also played football and track through college so i know there's a nice base there beneath the flab. I just haven't been taking care of myself for oh... um.. about six years.

Anyhoo... where can i find more info on designing a 12 week challenge program?? Any ideas??? Thanks for the help in advance.

Also...

been reading Adam Zickerman's Power of 10 book. For those of you that have read it.. he mentions that you can do split routines twice a week with 3-5 days rest.. so you could do..

Monday - lower body
Tuesday - upper
Thursday - lower
Frdaiy - upper

I'm interested in giving it a try. After reading up on MAX-QT & Power of 10 you can see that the two programs do come from similar base theories. As i would be classified "a beginner" since it's been way too long.. i just wonder if the Power of 10 would be better!??!?? I have no idea.. i need some advice. What program should i do?

Welcome to JSF!

To answer your question, the "12 week challenge" was made popular by Bill Phillips and his Body-for-Life program. Contestants would do the 12 week program and enter their results for a shot at a million dollars.

Congratulations on choosing to make a difference and improve your health. However, keep in mind that these next 12 weeks are going to be great for you, but a healthy lifestyle is just that...a healthy lifestyle.
