hi

after 2 years on jsf have let things slip over last 6 months due to family problems.

i know its not perfect but its started me off again after a while of slacking off. what am i doing right and wrong ( i know i should concentrate on weights but im enjoying the social aspect of the cardion sessions). guess im just looking for some encouragement. eg this week have been diligent at cardio and diet and feel pretty good. am worried about the weekend temptations tho - beer / socialising etc.

current stats m 34/ 77kg/approx 23%bf 1.77m. which has gone up by from 19%bf, 69kg

currently my programmes looks like this (all 1 hour at local community centre - i used to do daily elliptical at home but now prefer this - its fun! and i really look forward to it)
monday pm: basketball
tue: nothing yet
wed pm : cardio circuit training
thur: boxcercise
fri: nothing as yet
sat am: boxcercise
sun: nothing as yet

diet: (note this is on a good day , normally am not so strict)

am : oats with milk
lunch: prawns in wholemeal pitta bread
snacks: graze on almonds etc
tea: ermm usually involves say rice with salmon + veggies eg
also few cups of tea with skimmed milk

as one gets older does it get more difficult to lose the fat and keep it off - all my family are obese - just wondering how realistic my goals arei have a lot of fat around the chest area which i *really* want to lose (know you cant spot redcuce). would weight training my chest help in this area (ie tone up ??). trouble is now i find it hard to motivate myself with weights and excercising on my own...

cheers people

Metabolism does slow down every decade but most people continue to eat what they did when they were young bucks. You simply don't need so much energy to function or preserve muscle.

Good Luck on you fitness goals.
