Just finished my first week of healthy living and weighed and lost 4lb off my original 231lbs. Now of course I'm happy with any loss but is this too much or a normal start (I notice a few folks lost more in the initial weeks)

Wanted to clarify as I've been pretty careful with eating the right amount of food and I've only worked out once and plan to increase this week. Do you think I should increase my calories or give it a little longer?

Cheers - this sites been a great help!

Give it a bit longer and look at it again. It's normal to lose a lot in your first week or two due to your body releasing water. I lost some 7lb in my first 5 days!!

Yep - its definatley normal. Your body is "shocked" and drops a whole bunch of weight. In my first week I lost like 8 pounds it was insane. This is when I first started and I was like "WHOOHOO!" then I realised you start to plateau after a while. It's important to switch it up.
