Hi Guys
Newbie question, I'm starting my training program see post on weights forum but I have what might be a silly question. I want to lose weight whilst building lean mass. I have bought some pro max protien powder to aid with the muscle building but will it hinder the weight loss. Should I only start taking it once I've lost some weight?
I'm 33 years 5'10" and 182 lb.
many thanks
Steve

Also I have creatine, again might sound stupid but both that and the promax advise taking after a workout. Can you take both together, or will there be an adverse affect. (Apart from all that liquid sloshing about in my guts!!!)
cheers

I take whey protein in the morning and afternoon on my workout days. I'm loosing weight the same I was before I started to take it, but keeping more lean mass (I hope).

you could try only taking the supliments after a weights work out and not following cardio, i think that would maximise your muscle gains while not sacrificing a lot on the fat burning side.
But at the end of the day if you factor in the intake from the supliments too when working out your diet, you will still be lossing fat while taking supliments.

I take protein every day to keep my intake high enough or at least a steady level. If I didn’t take it daily I would have 60+g less of protein and 300 less cal's. I would rather drink 3 shakes with water than eat 300 empty cal's that most likely won't have the same amount of protein unless I eat an extra chicken breast. I was always under the assumption that not eating enough protein even on non workout days counteracts your muscle growth.
