Workout sampler that two dudes put together. One is an amazing trickster (martial arts acrobat) and the other is a teen bodybuilder (former trickster). It's fairly motivational -- they use fairly large weight (400+ deads, 300+ squats) with some excellent form, motivational grimaces, and blaring heavy metal. Get pumped to workout! The videos are 5-10 MB and about 1.5-2 minutes long.

Scroll down to the sampler called "8":

Additionally, check out the sampler "Heat" for a video of the bodybuilder competing. Watch "Torch" if you'd like to see the trickster's skills. (Attached image sets: 8, Heat, and Torch respectively.)

Yep, they are indeed amazing. I just watched "8" today before my workout to get motivated.
"Scorch" was also a major motivation to hit the gym last year.

too cool. didn't check out the new ones yet. had only their old vids pre 2k5. i did not like the pills in scorch though. felt like they were juicers. still i do not want to accuse anyone of anything. you never know and i actually do not care too much, still kickass vids.

Haha, someone asked about that on the forums (while they were still up). The pills were like vitamin c tablets or something else completely innocuous. Of course, maybe they were "something else" but, in the end, their physiques are still well within the realm of natural.

Supposively Juji's workouts are almost entirely dead and squat variations. Antoine, of course, uses a larger repertoire of exercises.

I love these vids! Scorch was one of my big motivations a while ago too. It would always get me pumped right before a workout.

Damn! I have been seeing Antoines progress and he seems to be damn huge!! I wonder how he tricks now? I know he wouldnt be anywhere as close to Juji in terms of tricking and quickness, I would much rather Juji's form, athletic and strong yet sleek and fast, with the ability to jump high.

Also chicanerous, in the perfect body gallery you said that Antoine here http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=361841 is his latest, yet if you look at the dates its 2004... and in the latest trickstutorials.com videos (the workout ones and the trick ones) he doesnt look quite that big, maybe hes leaned down a bit.

And also, I think Juji does work his arms a bit, he just works his legs out hardcore so he has strength in his jumps and landings in his tricks.

He's off season in those pics (posted November 2004), probably around 12-14% BF. In the latest trick tutorial videos (posted summer 2005), I think he has a bit less muscle, but his BF% is a lot lower like 8%. The sampler "8" was taken while he was dieting for competition (it says in the sampler's description) so he probably lost a bit of mass cutting way down in the six months between the pics and videos (especially if he competed more than once); this is backed up by the fact that the sampler's description also states that his lifts are not nearly as high as usual as they would be if you had been dieting and lost a bit of mass.

I didn't mean to say Juji only does squats and deadlift variations, but, from what I read, those are his primary lifts. I'm sure he does other fun compounds like pull-ups and dips, but I don't think he does them nearly as often or includes any isolation like curls or skull crushers.

You pretty much saw Antoine's current tricking in Torch, so, when he's leaned down, that is probably pretty much how he tricks.

I saw recent pics of Antoine on the TT forums in August and he was looking "big" again.

Do you trick at all? if so what tricks can you do? I can aerial, backflip, 540, btwist, axe2aerial, front and back handspring, plus alot more moves not on the site that I learnt in wushu.

No, I don't trick. I did gymnastics, but wasn't a very good tumbler and could never get over that initial backflip fear (so I concentrated on forward tumbling). My lessons weren't frequent enough to get good at anything. I can do proper front flip still and that's about it. It's kind of embarassing.

At one time or another, as far as strength holds, I had a v-sit, back lever, straddle planche, and straddle press handstand. I don't have any of them at the moment except the lever.

I'll probably pick gymnastics up again or start tricking in the summer WITH frequency. I'd really like to get my aerial (+ variations), b-twist, and some connected backwards tumbling. You really have to trick/tumble with frequency to get good; once per week doesn't reinforce a skill at all.

What's funny is OSU has the absolute best gymnastic training facility in the country and I can't use it! (I go to college at OSU.) I would seriously go there almost every day if I was allowed. But I'm not allowed to go there any day.

I've decided I'm gonna start tricking. That's maybe the coolest thing I've ever seen. And the guys are self taught.

I'm gonna do the same. Sure, I'll not achieve such amazing results, but the point is to have fun, isn't it? And it will definitely make me work on my flexibility.

As said, amazing stuff.

Ilan Rosenberg has to be the coolest guy EVER! The guy's 40-something, he looks amazing and he can really do something with his body. The BB contest footage is something words cannot describe. Talk about MOTIVATION! :spaz:

If you wish to start tricking, its best to begin with the basics, the most important basic of all is flexibility, work your legs out a bit with a few sets of squats and jump in one spoty for a minute or so, then begin stretching, you can see all of their stretching methods here http://www.trickstutorials.com/index.php?page=content/flexibility

I have the same book and video that he does, ironicaly I got mine before he did because I knew of the greatness that Tom Kurz knows about flexibility from my Wushu instructor.

Then you begin with the tricks after you have gotten mildly flexible, such as beging able to bend down with straight legs, far enough so that you can have your hands flat on the ground with no knees bent (I can touch my head to my shins :D ) but all remember I began with NO flexibility AT ALL, and now I am pretty flexible, so anyone can do it.

Start with the tricks he mentions to be the 5 basics, DONT try to do any more until you get these 5 moves down in your head, its dangerous without them cause they are as said the BASICS after all.

I've been tricking for two days already!!! It's soooooooo much fun. I've been doing 540s, mainly. Whenever I got bored or tired, I threw a handstand or a front handspring. I am amazed I could hold a handstand for like 5 sec with the legs and feet completely straight. And in another day or so I will be able to do front handsprings. It's a matter of initial momentum, at the moment. The only thing is that spinning around makes me a little bit dizzy. :D

All these things might sound like nothing, but to me are quite remarkable, since I'm probably the less physically coordinate person on the face of this planet.

I must say that Jujimufu is an amazing guy. I PM'ed him through club540 and he replied within hours offering his advice and help whenever I might need it. The guy is so cool.

Anyway, if I don't show up much in the forums it's either because my dissertation writing is at its peak or because I broke my neck in my backyard trying to land an aerial.

Awesome! :tucool: Where do you practice? Outside, in a gym, etc?

Great man, It took me like 2 weeks to get a front handspring right, WAY longer to get a backwards one :spaz:

I practise in my yard most of the time, for about 2-3 hours some days :D atleast 1 hour a day though. I have been to the local gymnastics centre and it rocks there! the springboards and mats and padding take the fear away completely! and make it easier to practise, thats how I got a backtuck down pat.

Right now I am working on my B-Twist, im trying to get more height on it so I can lead into other tricks.

Awesome! :tucool: Where do you practice? Outside, in a gym, etc?

These first few days I've been practising in my backyard. But I'm thinking about going to a public grass soccer pitch which is about half away from home. It is usually desert and there is no danger of crashing against the rosebuds or the garage. Only thing is that the soccer pitch is in front of the train station and everybody is gonna have a great time watching me performing stupid jumps and turns and crashing like mad and smiling like an idiot. :D

It would be cool to have a gym nearby, but it's not the case. I live in a sad, tiny, useless village.

I will move withing three months or so, though, since my thesis is nearly done. Maybe I'll be more lucky then. I think I might go to Cambridge to do some research.

There have to be gymnastics gyms in Cambridge!!!!
