I was wondering what l-glutamine powder is made of. Is it synthezised or is it animal? I'm researching the possibilities of going on a strong musclebulding period, but on a completely vegetabilic diet.

View Full Version : L-Glutamine powder. mattias Sun, January 25th, 2004, 02:33 PM I was wondering what l-glutamine powder is made of. Is it synthezised or is it animal? I'm researching the possibilities of going on a strong musclebulding period, but on a completely vegetabilic diet. Magnetic Sun, January 25th, 2004, 02:39 PM My guess is it's produced by chemical means, ie a chemical reaction involving some precursors. It would be pretty inefficient to go through all the trouble of purifying glutamine from animal tissue. Although I could be wrong. mattias Mon, January 26th, 2004, 06:33 AM You are right, glutamine powder is produced by feeding a L-Gln-producing bacterium glucose and then extracting the glutamine and purify it - in simple terms. I'm sorry I didn't do research on my own before I posted on the bord, I just thought someone would have the information in their head :) Now I just have to find a cheap vegetabilic protein powder. |
