Hiya all

A friend of mine pointed out this site to me and thought I'd join in.

A bit about me December 2003 I was a huge lump of lard at 18 stone and undeterminable body fat %. Trouser size was a UK size 40. Alright I was 6ft 2 but as you will see from the piccy I was fat no two ways about it. So in January 2004 I started my quest.

I dont believe a diet should run your life so for me dieting starts Monday 9 am and Finishes at 5 pm on a Friday and then its party time. Yes this hampered my progress but it meant I stuck to it.

The going was tough I followed a Matt Roberts training programme that was based on HIIT twice a week a long slow run one day a week and then one day small muscle workout and another day a large muscle workout. At the end of the first month Id lost a stone.

And so I carried on. My first goal at the outset was to drop 2 trouser sizes and lose two stone. After 3 months of starting I achieved this goal so I carried on and on and on.

And then I plateued in January this year and also had a car crash which meant I couldnt run. Two months of inactivity also followed but I managed to eat sensibly as by this point had been on a relatively controlled diet based losely around GI principles.

So in July Mens Health Magazine website started a challenge which I enterred into argggg Im on the home page!!!!!!!!! It was a lose your love handle challenge. Starting point was 14st 7, trouser size was 36.
Well it was a 12 week challenge and in the first 4 weeks I lost 14.7 lbs!!!!!!! I was gobsmacked. All with no cv at all only slow weights at 5 up 5 down. The diet has been restrictive calorie cycling from 1800 down to 1400 on 200 down 100 up cycle over 6 weeks.

But am nearing the end of this challenge and am now circa 12 1/2 stone and trouser size is a very lose 32. But this is just the beginning............ there will be more but cant say what yet so this is why I am posting now as I just want to show what you can achieve when you put your mind to it

Hi Bedfordguy,

I've been following your progress from the start. I only made one reply to the Lose Your Love Handles thread, but that doesn't represent how much admiration I have for what you've achieved.

I haven't been to the Men's Health site for a few days but I'll be sure to look in tomorrow.

I take my hat off to you Sir. You have done a fine job.

Regards

Harry.

You know, I could hardly believe it was possible given the regime Anthony had you working to, but just look at the result. You can't argue with your results. You just can't. Astounding. It's a shame that the other three seemed to fall by the wayside (to a degree anyway).

12 Weeks was a long haul and you stuck it out and by all accounts, worked very hard. You deserve your success, there's no doubt about that. (Not to mention the work you did in your weight loss before the challenge!!!!).

That pic is 3 Weeks old eh? Blimey. I can't wait to see the final shoot.

I look forward to watching your progress in the future.

Take care BFG.

Well done, mate. You've certainly come a long way.

It really is great to see so many people getting their health sorted, and then being dissatisfied with above average.

It's interesting to see how you look, since we are similar heights. I would be very happy looking how you do, but I think I want to go a bit bulkier so my goal is probably about right.

I'm currently about a stone lighter than you. It would be interesting to know your maintenance calorie intake.

I shall be very interested in your next move.

Once again, well done

Any news on the photoshoot?
