Over the past several months, I have been taking protein powdered purchased from Costco. A 6 pound container cost $20 and I think there is around 90 servings with each serving having 22 grams of protein. I regularly mix one serving with fat free milk about one hour before bedtime. Having said that, I was thinking about changing over to Muscle Milk to see if I can get better results. I am trying to gain muscle mass. Is Muscle Milk worth the money or should I stick with the Costco protein? I workout with free weights 3 to 4 times a week. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Depending on whether you're in the states or not, Muscle Milk's gonna run you about $20 a container. I live on the stuff, but some don't like the nutrient breakdown. (can't understand why?) You're really talking apples and oranges though between Costco protein and Muscle Milk. If you simply wanted to step up to a better protein, I'd recommend Nitrean through our sponser AtLarge Nutrition. But even with that, I throw in 2 TBS of Heavy Cream in with my shakes. I'm partial...so I'm gonna back any Muscle Milk decisions anybody makes. :tu:

Not to get sidetracked but I use heavy cream AND natty for my pre - bed shake. YUM-YUM!
How big is the container of Muscle Milk? Twenty bucks seems kinda inexpensive.

People just now realizing how good the stuff is for you? Allz I know is that Muscle Milk was recommended by Rheo Blair (look him up) as "one of the finest protein blends available". Others included were...
Pro M3 Protein Blend from ISS Research
Pro Complex from Optimum Nutrition
Animal Max Protein from Universal

Other "fine quality proteins" included:
Ultra Size from Beverly International
Dave Draper's Bomber Blend
and Hyper Growth from Larry Scott

I don't believe that Nitrean was available in Rheo's time...or I'm sure that it would have gotten a mention. (gotta plug the sponsers :D )
Actually, the way that the information that I'm copywrite infringing the above from reads is..."In my opinion, your best choice among commecial protein supplements available today is a blend of proteins that includes casein, egg and whey" But we already knew that part...didn't we? Rheo, and most likely the report I'm reading are back from "the day"...and there is much more current information available. (there may even be an attempted debunking of his beliefs  ) So I guess I'm just praticing my typing skills here... :D

It's only that cheap at DPS (http://www.dpsnutrition.net/product_information.asp?number=CT013&back=yes&dept=1034&last=1034). I buy six at a time to get the price to $18.99 per container, and it put's me over the $100 mark to get the extra $5 savings. So it amounts to paying only ninety cents for shipping 6 containers. At a scoop and a half serving, which is 261 calories when mixed with water...you get 20 servings at about $1 each.
Granted, I wouldn't recommend it as a PWO because of the lack of carbs and the high fat. But to use as an MRP or even just a treat...it's the best.
