i wanted to know if smart balance butter is a good source for fat intake? also, if kroger harvest grain bread is a good source of carbohydrate? 70 cal, 14g carb 2g fiber, 2g protein .5 fat per slice. it is a multi grain bread. I currently am using these products and was wondering if anyone else uses them

Smart balance (www.smartbalance.com) is a non-hydrogenated margarine using palm, canola and olive oils. Some versions have flax or fish oil as well. I like it, although I rarely use any sort of 'butter'. (heck I prefer peanut/almond butter now to any of that stuff)..
As for the bread, would need an ingredients list. If it's 'whole wheat' only with no hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup, that's a start. I only get ezekiel bread for the few times I am in need of bread. It's yummy and about as clean as you can get.

I don't think it sounds bad compared to most margarines. It is not as good as unprocessed fats. Virgin organic oils/fats are the only way to go.
