Is there anyway to hard boil Egg Beaters?

I was thinking of putting them in a plastic bag and dropping that into boiling water. But I heard the heated plastic might let off some toxins into the eggs. So I though of finding some other plasic container like tupperware, but I image that wouldnt be much better...?

Well the reason I'm asking is because I eat them just about every day, and I'm getting sick of the 'ol scrambled eggs. Does anyone have any other ideas or easy recipes for them?

Well, as far as hard boiling the egg beaters, I don't know if that would work. However, I freeze bags of pasta combined with sauce all the time. I reheat them by putting the bag (with the pasta and sauce inside) into a pot of boiling water for 5 minutes or so. The gallon size plastic freezer bag is completely safe for this application.

Good luck

Why not just hard boil real eggs, and ditch the yolk? it would be a lot cheeper.

Well one cup of egg beaters = 24g of protein. To get that much protein from real eggs, I'd need 7 egg whites. If I eat a cup of egg beaters in the morning, and a cup at night, I'd be going through over a dozen eggs a day. Dont know how much eggs cost, but that seems like a lot to me.

It's actually cheaper, beleive me I've done the math. I do 8 egg whites at a time....sometimes twice a day....that's 16 eggs and it still comes out much cheaper

Well, here, 16oz. of Egg Beaters costs $3.59. That is 2 8oz. (cup) servings for 24g of protein.

1 doz. eggs costs me $1.49, so say I buy 2 dozen (24 eggs). 7 egg whites (24g of protein) would give me 3 servings out of those 24 eggs with 3 left over at a price of $3.00.

The only thing is that egg beaters are more convenient, so if that is important to you....?

Also most people do eat SOME of the yolks. Personally I go anywhere from 1:2 to 1:3 of whole:whites.

Yeah, real eggs are cheaper. Egg Beaters are more convenient, and thus expensive. When you buy Egg Beaters, you're paying someone to break and separate the eggs for you. Think about it.

egg beaters are actually made from a lower quality egg than you get in a whole egg. the eggs they use are atually cheaper. theres nothing wrong with it but its a lower grade egg by appearance i believe.
