Shoe inserts... ;)

As far as I know, there's no way to increase your height through exercise...

?

nope there is no way to increase your height from training. You can appear taller simply by appearing thiner, or by having a better shape. Many people who are in poor condition slouch a lot too, so by working out you'll probably find you hold yourself better and so are actually taller while walking around, simply from the way you hold yourself.

dude... if you are done growing... you just aren't going to get any taller (naturally).

Or if you are rich, crazy, have a high tolerance for pain, can afford to be bed-ridden and/or in a wheel chair for 6 month to several years and understand that even after recovery your legs can snap in two (20% risk of that, I believe), then Llizarov Cosmetic Leg Lengthening Procedure (http://www.shortsupport.org/Health/Leg-Lengthening/procedure.html) is just what you are looking for!

There was an article about this procedure in the February 2004 Men's Health.

I think I need to add a puke smiley....

That looks lovely!
I seen a documentary about that on TV one night, it's pretty crazy.

Sure isn't something I would risk going through... I wouldn't mind being taller (I'm 176cm), but I think I'll be better of walking than rolling (in a wheelchair)

If you're still growing: eat well!

I know how tough it can be growing up small, I was very small compared to peers from my 12th until my 17th. Then I started growing like crazy, and now I'm 6'4", quite tall even by Dutch standards. :jumping:

The best way to cope with being small is by wearing clothes that make you look taller than you are. I believe vertical lines are a great way to achieve that. There are probably lots more tricks, just look around for them...

Get more sleep.

I am a good half inch taller in the morning than i am in the evening. My spine slowly compresses through the day !

Perhaps you could try the Roald Dahl method but in reverse !

Someone once told me that if you take shark cartlidge tablets, it will help you get taller. When I was 16 I wanted to be over 6' for football. I was 6' at the time but I wanted to be around 6'2''. I never tried it though.

Man do I wish there were a certain way to get taller. I always wanted to reach that 6' mark, just because I thought it would be more intimidating on the soccer pitch. But you are what you are, and if you're like me, you'll grow to actually like your height. You could always follow those fashion things that say to wear vertical stripes and what not. But I'd say just go with the flow man, and don't worry over things such as height that you have no control over.

this is an old thread but.....

It is possible to increase your height through yoga exercises, however it takes quite a bit if time (years) and the increase is small, around 1/4" to 1/2", which is primarily due to flexibilty gains (stretching) achieved in the spine. My former yoga instructor was a petite woman and she had been practicing for years and achieved had a 1/2'' increase in height.

Other than genetics or using the "Gattaca" movie idea (i.e. breaking your shins), there's not much you can do.

Go with the surgical approach, though it's going to inhibit your ability to squat heavy until you're finished growing :D

I hear its a popular procedure with korean women.

For myself, I'd love an extra couple of inches. Imagine not having to alter my jeans to fit me? That'd rock. At 5'8", I'm not exactly the shortest guy around, but I am definitely short. When I graduated highschool I was only 5'4" - luckily my little growth spurt came the summer after grad :)
