I have a question...when you overeat/binge/cheat, does your stomach actually enlarge so that in the future it takes more food to make you feel hungry? How does this happen? I was reading some other threads about those who have binged and stretched their stomach to the size of a basketball!? OK, maybe not that big...but can you shrink your stomach back to normal size?

I have always wondered this too. There is a guy I have worked with for about 5 years. When he started I would guess he was about 300 pounds, now I would say 500. I know this sounds impossible, but true. He is such a goodlooking man, and I don't know what happened to make him eat so much, but he eats like 6 hotdogs at a time or more, He says for breakfast he can eat one pound of sausage and a dozen eggs, with some biscuits etc. I feel so bad for him. My dad says that he eats so much now because it takes that much to make him feel satisfied, I don't know if this is true. I have seen him try to diet before, but only last a few weeks, because he says he is starving. I hope to see plenty of replies to your quesiton.

Stomach stretching plays a part in it, but there are other biological factors involved in over eating. Different hormones and chemicals in the body tell us when to be hungry and when to feel full. For some people, their physiological responses to food are out of whack with what they should be. I don't know the exact science behind it, but I've heard about certain prescripcription drugs which are supposed to regulate these chemicals, thereby allowing for more normal eating.
Of course a lot of fat people are just self-indulgent babies with no will power. At least that's the main reason I was fat.
