Man, where did you dig that up? That's worse than the squat video that made the rounds a few weeks ago.

When I first started watching I was thinking, "Oh, look how rounded his back is." As the video progressed, I realized that his rounded back was the the least of his worries.

I love how he desperately tries to lock it out (complete with sound effects) after using his unique "ratchet" technique. Classic.

Even Chris Mason has to agree - that guy's form sucks.

In all seriousness, that's probably one of the scariest, most idiotic things I've ever seen when it comes to weight training.

And whats sadder is he thinks that he is doing it right. Why else would he videotape it? That actually disturbs me more than makes me laugh. I thought he was going into convulsions or something.

I'm not going to be able to get that DeadLift jiggle out of my head.

The concensus on some other bodybuilding sites is that he's doing it for comedic value. Notice how smoothly he lets it down after he has to "hump" it all the way up? I don't think that's really a super-heavy weight for that guy.

Please, Chris Mason, tell us that there is such thing as bad lifting technique and it is perfectly exemplified here. Please.

That was the single most hilarious vid I think I've ever seen.

lol.. I thought the poor guy maybe stepped on a live wire, or was maybe having a seizure. I know my deadlift form isnt perfect, but anyone who lifts anything would know that you dont flop like a fish when you lift something. Maybe its a bit too heavy for you buddy! :D

I've watched it 10 times to determine if it's fake or not. It looks real to me-even though he has an easy time lowering it it still seems like he's really weak coming 'out of the hole' as they say. No hip power so he's got to get into some pseudo-pike position but instead of bending at the hips he rounds his lumbar to like 45 degrees.

It's a good thing for that guy that he's still two years old and his body will let him get away with stuff like that.

ROFLMAO, I've seen some pretty crazy videos around but none of them compares to that! That's the best clip EVER!!

Too bad (or should I say THANK GOD) it's probably fake.

ROFLMAO!! That has to be a joke. I mean, come on. I was mortified when he didn't even squat down to grasp the bar, and then it just gets crazier from there. Definitely a spoof video and not a real attempt at a deadlift.

This is a pretty accurate video of what I see some of the kids doing in my weight training class.

If you add up the weight he's got there, it's not exactly a walk in the park for a guy in his apparent shape. On the other hand it all could have been video morphed and photo-shopped. But it should definitely go on record somewhere as a how-not-to training tape. Hey John, any way you could "sticky" that as a warning to newbies?

I'm still waiting to hear from Chris Mason on whether this constitues bad form.

It just looks like he wasn't using his legs the right way and his back was rounded, or am I wrong?

And maybe the fact that he looks like he's humpin' the bar with all that rocking back and forth?!?!

Tell me, please, that no one actually thinks this is a serious video. This is obviously someone goofing around (and damned lucky that he didn't hurt himself)!

If you look at the kid's face when he walks toward the camera he looks dead serious about it...or he's a damn good actor.

Holy crap :d_eek:

This is almost as bad as a guy that i saw at the gym doing bicep curls with an ez bar... he was using his back to lift the weight rather then his biceps. Try picturing it, it looked like a dead lift with an ez curl bar close to his chest

Can most people bend there back like that?

I am not very flexible, but I cannot even come close to that when I try.

Yes? I don't believe it requires any great flexibility at all. You just have to focus on relaxing and dropping your shoulders. It has little to do with the actual back.
