I wish...

But, for those that cannot afford a home gym center, or cannot afford to go and buy the latest craze in running shoes or cardio gear (like me..) I would stick some music on, and walk up and down stairs to the beat of the music.

1 and a half hours of that is gonna drop the best of us begging to our knees pleading for the pain to stop like a little girlie (no offense to the adult variant of girl...)...

I've just done it and it has the same affect on my legs as a spinning class..... wooooooot! Linkin Park.... woooooot.... pain..... no wooooooot. ;-)

I'd love to hear of more types of this home without equipment training as it is seriously interesting!

What can you come up with?

Try it, seriously!

All the best...

Skipping rope...easy, and VERY VERY cheap! It gives an incredible cardio workout. After 20 minutes HIIT with a rope...you'll be sweating with the oldie's for sure! :p

Aye, used to do this alot in the army after hours...

High impact on the knees though, which us tallies have to try and avoid! It is a good one though if you have strong knees!

:-)

Cheers Danielle!

I have a book, called "Home Workout Bible" or something like that, and it has a ton of home exercises, with pictures and descriptions....You might want to go get you one, it's really a great book. :D

I bought my barbell forl ike £20. So I wasn't out a lot of money. Before that I would do situps and pushups, leg races and all that. Didn't do much use though.

An excellent exercise is one called "Body Builders".
1. You start standing up with your hands to your side and legs less than shoulder width apart.
2. You do one jumping jack.
3. Then squat down.
4. Kick your legs out behind you while putting your arms to catch yourself (the push up position).
5. Do 2 push ups.
6. Spread your legs apart quickly as far as wide as you can.
7. Bring your legs together.
8. Bring your legs back up to your stomach.
9. Stand up. You have just completed 1 Body Builder. Do 24 more for 1 set.

Yeah, I'm glad my 9th grade gym teacher (former Marine DI) had never heard of those before.

Oh god, squat thrusts,

the memories!
the pain!

Good for you though. What I wouldn't give to wake up one day in an alternate dimension where brownies were good for you and squat thrusts turned you into a fatso. It would be even better if, in this dimension, I was the only one who like brownies more than squat thrusts, so I could look dedicated and disciplined :D

I saw something on TV once about how guys in prison improvise workouts with little or no equipment.

Although playing cards sound like a lot of fun, this exercise will leave you huffing and puffing. Use as many cards as is necessary to get a good workout (three cards is a good starting point). With cards in a vertical row on the floor, retrieve one card by using a squat technique, bringing the thighs to around a 90-degree angle. Stand, step forward and place the first card with the second, making a total of two cards. Stand, then squat again, retrieve the first card, then stand, squat and retrieve the second and so on.

I did this with my guys everyday for about 6 months:

Take a deck of playing cards and assign values to each card: Ace=25, King=20, Queen=20, Jack=20, 2-10=value of card

Each man draws a predetermined amonut of cards (we started with 3 and each week added 1 more card). Total the value of the cards, divide by 3 (this will give you 3 sets). Ex. 2 Aces=50, 5 of clubs=5, Total=55, 55/3=18 (rounded down)

Now do 1 set of regular push ups, 1 set of wide grip push ups, and one set of diamond pushups. My guys had some nice tris going in 6 months!
