Today was the big day!
I have been working out since April 2005 and I started with 45 lb squats (parallel).
Last Friday (leg day) I did full squats with 95 lb (4x5 + 3 reps with the help of my trainer).

This Wed I did Back and Bicep so I did Deadlifts... with 135 lb on my last set . Today I had mentioned to him that I was supriced how my back really didnt feel sore (not too much DOMS). So today he gave me 135 lb for my Squats...and i did them!!
I managed 4 x10, only parallel, but still.

I do like the full squats, so I'm gonna work it up to full squats with 135 lb.

I'm totally amazed how much stronger I got and I'm loving it! I'm totally addicted to the weight training now :D

I'm so lucky to have such great trainer too....he is so easy going, but encouraging and tough at the same time...makes huge difference.
Honestly I didnt think I will be able to move this 135 lb, the plates looked so huge LOL.....but I did it!!! :D

By becoming stronger and sronger in these compound lifts, you are going to become leaner and more shapely than ever. Women who fear heavy weights with the notion that they will get "big and bulky" should pay particular notice.

Congrats! :tu:

good work, you know its funny yesterday the squat rack was taken so i had to do squats on the smith machine.... i thought i was some bad ass because i got 4 plates on each side.... i busted out 6 and thought .... "no sweat!" ... then i looked at one side.... i had 4 plates on one side, and 1 on the other.. i felt pretty dumb...

Dont know how that fits in here, but i thought it was kinda funny.

Anyhow, i started out not being able to squat more than 100 lbs... well at least not correctly.

remember, get perfect form down first... then try to increase weight.

Thanks guys!!!

Yes, I really watch my form and concentrate with each rep.
I try not to lean forward (then I feel my back). I push with my heals and keep my balance.

I feel more comfortable with keeping my feet wider (I'm tall, 5'10")...and having something under my heels helps with the balance.

Cool! It's nice whenever you can finally put a 45 lb plate on each side of the bar. I remember when I did it for bench years ago and thought "Now this is cool!".

Women can squat a lot, though. Weighing around 180 my wife could (back before she stopped working out :o) go nearly to parallel with me on her back and do a couple of squats ;)

Always great to do things you thought you were incapable of. This morning my dumbell presses totally sucked, so I thought I'd give a bit more with the barbell press. I actually could push more weight at the normal angle than I could do before with a decline!

Thanks guys!!!

Getting the Manta Ray really improved my squats! I never feel my back after squats anymore (now to fix those knees ;) )

Keep up the good work, you look awesome! :tu:
