Hey everybody!

I am going to be running a 10K in 2 weeks and was just wondering what I can be doing to get ready for it. Should I change my eating at all (more or less protein, carbs etc.). I currently run 3 times a week for about 45 minutes, along with weights 2-3 times a week. Should I change this just at all for the race?

I am not doing this to lose weight, strickly fun and exercise. I enjoy running and this happens to be work related....I just wanna be able to impress my co-workers.

Any suggestions???

Cool! Thanks!! :tucool:

Congrats on the 10K
I tend to just carb load a couple of days before, make sure you have water up til the race and keep hydrated and have plenty of carbs in the morning, oats etc, avoid fatty foods. Otherwise, you are ready to go. Your training seems to be fine.
Best of luck

Thanks Hitt Man

I let you know my results. There are a couple of guys in my office who are avid runners so I am a little nervous but what the heck...gotta try it sometime I guess.

ooh man i wish i were running it with you i love 10ks.
my personal tip is to incorparate hill sprints into your routine, these tone up my quads really nicley and make the 10k a breeze.

good luck, keep us posted.

Yup. Really, you should have been doing one long run a week and some interval work rather than just 3 (moderate-intensity?) 45-minute runs. But don't change it up now. You want to be fresh and rested and not fatigued from more rigorous training. For the future, you can do a more rigorous training regimen.
