Anybody tried Maca (Lepidium Meyanii)? Grown in the Andes of Bolivia and Peru, prized for its nutritional and medicinal properties, along with its power as an aphrodisiac, energy enhancer and hormonal balancer for both men and women. (At least that's what it says in the ad).

If you're looking for a hormonal balancer, increased sex drive and testosterone, and enhanced energy, go to the gym, warm up well and do 4-5 sets of ball-busting squats. All the way down. Don't terminate the set until your lungs feel like they're fusing together and your head is ready to explode. Repeat the following week. Who said attaining the fountain of youth was easy?

Speaking of testosterone, from every article I've read the general consensus seems by the medical profession to be that sustained heavy weight lifting in fact DECREASES testosterone in the male. Although there's an initial spike in T directly after a workout, later on it will drop below normal levels. I know before I took up lifting I was much more responsive sexually "off the cuff" so to speak. Now that I am bigger, stronger and working out on a regular basis, a lot of times I don't want "jiggy jiggy" that night. I just want to sleep. There is a possibility I was overtraining a while back as I was starting to feel tired all the time so I stopped cold and took 2 weeks sabbatical. That helped.

Yes, overtraining can have this effect. For me, it's usually contest dieting along with the training. When I am training hard, recovering sufficiantly and eating plenty of nutritious food, I KNOW my test levels are high. Let's just say there are some uhhmm uhh ... indicators that my hormone and test levels are "rising" :o More so now, than when I was in my early 20's (I am middle age)
