Yeah that's to get buff. But to keep the fat off, l'm doing it EVERYDAY, and l think l'm over doing it, so l'm asking about the running for now.

TylerGred Mon, September 5th, 2005, 07:49 PM From what I've read 20-30 min of cardio 3x a week for maintaining.

Its not easy to get bluff. I would workout at least 2 times a week if i were you to preserve and gain a little muscle. Many slim people still have poor muscle to fat ratios especially if tthey strave thereselves to get skinny.

big amen to that!!
there's this horrible idea (a rather ignorant one might I add) floating in the air that the minute you pick up weights, you will instantly get huge and ripped like the pros on the cover of M&F...
i hear the following things way too often from non-active people:
"weights? why??? i don't want to get huge!"
"but if i start doing weights, my waist will start getting bigger....i want to lose the fat"
Demon Knight Tue, September 6th, 2005, 04:40 AM If you want to go on a good, hard bulk, why not try simply weight training 3-4 times a week WITHOUT any cardio? Try it for a month and see how it goes. If you are gaining fat, then do some cardio 2-3 times a week. You look quite thin so you're body type may actually not allow you to gain much fat if any but you may find it quite hard to gain muscle too. Just experiment without cardio for a month and see from there.
You may find that your metabolism is keeping things relatively in check.
