I was reading in Venuto's Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle that the body fat scales don't really work because of body water fluctuation. But I was looking on EBay and I read here (http://cgi.ebay.com/Electronic-Glass-Water-Body-Fat-Bathroom-Scale-Scales_W0QQitemZ4403152949QQcategoryZ33166QQrdZ1QQ cmdZViewItem) that technology has changed and it now measures it accurately. Is this true? I don't really have the time or money to go get myself professionally tested, so I wanted to try something simple to get a rough estimate.

Thanks!

Looks like a completely regular scale with regular, inaccurate readings to me. The underwater method and skin calipers the auction disses are actually considered more accurate than electrical impedance measuring those scales do.

Very recent thread in the equipments forum about a Tamita bodyfat scale. You can read some of our thoughts on them in there... :db:
