I currently eat instant oatmeal (from the health food store- whole grain, no sugar, 150 kcal per 1/2 cup, etc) for breakfast everyday and try to incorporate some protein too...is instant oatmeal worse than raw? Should I switch?

Throw out the nutrition facts if possible.

Protein:
Carbs:
Sugar:
Fat:
Etc.

This might help. I'm not familiar with what you're eating. It might be decent, it might not. Lots of instant oatmeals can be high in sugar sometimes. Straight-up oats is usually the healthiest choice, although not the tastiest.

Instant oatmeal has a different texture and a bit higher GI index, but other than that it's still the same oats. A trainer in my gym, who happens to be the national champion in bodybuilding for years in a row now, says he eats a lot of instant oatmeal. So it's hardly bad for you.

Yes, but I am assuming he is talking about something other than the Quaker instant oatmeal packets from the grocery store (he mentioned buying it from a health food store). So I was looking for more details as I just didn't know much about the product he is referring to.

Be careful emulating champion bodybuilders; Jay Cutler eats over 1000 carbs a day and I ain't doing that. ;) (I'm sure you know this, I'm just being goofy.)

Quaker 1 minute oats have been my main source of carbs throughout my cut. Of course I eat green veggies and fruit but the oats start my day every day! :eat:

I ate them and it worked fine for me. I actually combined the flavored packets with 1/2 cup of regular oats to add flavor while keeping the calories down.

Bare in mind. I never watched my marcos during my cut or even during my everlasting maintence. Maybe I was just lucky.

She actually did say in her message: "whole grain, no sugar".

Sounds to me like an excellent food choice.
