Hort August 29th, 2005, 11:19 AM Hmmm- time for the all lemon and sea salt diet... clicky (http://www.essense-of-life.com/info/foodchart.htm) Gordo August 29th, 2005, 11:30 AM I guess..... I think the non-sugar coated answer is that overweight people eat too much food and don't burn enough cals for what they take in....period. They don't have energy because it's high sat fatty foods that offer little nutritional value and sap their energy. Nike said "just do it" I relate to that more and more every day. PeteBDawg August 29th, 2005, 11:32 AM Yeah, according to the chart, it seems sugar, cheese, soda, beer, any corn product (including HFCS), any wheat product, and almost any meat product are acidic, and most of the basic foods are either a little exotic or vegetables. So, I'd chalk it up to coincidence. Trex_Lean_machine August 31st, 2005, 08:13 PM This is meant to be the 'latest' diet, and many have already given it a go with great results - but there are a number of factors to consider such as whether the person was dieting for the first time, age, any illnesses etc. I think if you look at the average american or person from england, there diet consists of 80% of these foods. But as you said it may be a coincidence. I wonder if jeremy's tried this method or anyone else. I think the diet discusses weightloss not fatloss PeteBDawg September 1st, 2005, 04:49 PM It's a great choice for the next fad diet, because being overweight or obese definitely increases your chance of suffering from acid reflux (I know, I had it pretty bad). People will then erroneously attribute the acid reflux to the pH of their food, even when it's their stomach acid, not the acid in the food, that comes up in the reflux. And so it will become a great source of fake evidence. But I don't know exactly how acid reflux works - it's possible food pH does have something to do with it. |
