yes
sigakoer Wed, August 24th, 2005, 09:52 AM It should work. It's maybe not ideal, and you need to see if you burn more calories than that diet will give you (make an account and enter everything you eat into www.fitday.com), but it should work. As long as you can stay away from greasy fast food and soda. When your body burns fat by dieting, you'll also burn it from your stomach, there's no way other than surgery to remove it from any specific place. Given your numbers, I think lifting weights would be more important though. It's pretty hard to give dietary advice to growing teenagers.
Sole Wed, August 24th, 2005, 01:09 PM 13 years old? Crazy! I wish I started learning about fitness when I was 13.
Anyway, couple items:
Is this a ok diet plan for ab fat loss and other fat loss 2.
Looks like you need to learn a bit more about the role of fat in the human body and how fat is lost (i.e. you can't spot reduce fat). I suggest you continue to read these forums, and do a few searches on fat loss.
Also, I'd watch your sugar intake. Milk, your Nutri-gran bar, protein bar and PB&J sandwich most likely all contain large amounts of sugar which you should avoid on a fat loss diet.
Good luck!
tennisball Wed, August 24th, 2005, 02:32 PM Hey 13 yr old superstar,
Don't worry so much about some stubborn ab fat. You shouldn't be cutting your calories. Work hard at football. Eat lots of meat. Drink lots of milk. Go running. You need to grow!!!! When I was 13, I had all kinds of baby fat. I didn't change my eating at all, but by the time I hit 14, I grew about 7 inches in a year and a half, and had a flat skinny stomach. Don't stop eating. Just workout hard!!
Kick some butt on the field, and eat meat! Cut out most processed foods (no french fries, more chicken and steak) and soda, candy, and ice cream.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Don't forget fruits and veggies and whole grains too.

Trying to get rid of that stubborn ab fat
PeteBDawg Fri, August 26th, 2005, 05:29 PM Have you started your growth spurt yet? You don't want to be cutting back too hard on your calories when your body is trying to grow!
Definitely feel free to add more healthy food to this if you get hungry! Focus on keeping your diet balanced.
If you find yourself eating any junk food at all (that includes fast food), add more real, healthy food to this diet. It's better to be eating a little extra ham or eggs than to eat a candy bar.
You're not eating any good fat sources. If you want a good snack, try some almonds - they're something a lot of the guys around here use to get their good fats.
Where are the vegetables? There are a lot of good reasons to eat your veggies. Fiber is important for fitness, too, not just for, you know, what fiber is generally good for.
See if you can have fish for dinner every once in a while. Find some fish that you like. Fish are a very good food source for anyone who wants to get buff.
Cottage cheese is probably the most popular after-dinner snack in the fitness community - you should try it!
Stay at it, work hard, read your food labels, be healthy, and :gl:
Tiny Fri, August 26th, 2005, 06:24 PM I would ditch the nutri grain bar, or look at alternatives...some of those bars are really high in sodium.
