I'm looking for a meal replacement bar that contains virtually all complex carbs (ie: Low sugar and simple carbs), lots of complete protein, and some good fat.

I'd prefer the macro ratio in the bar to be about 40/40/20, although it would be fine if there were less fat, let's say 45/45/10 even.

Another thing I'm concerned about is too much soy protein, which I've heard is bad for hormone levels in men. So ideally maybe the bar could contain another type of complete protein or a mixture (I'm not super educated on the different kinds of proteins).

Any suggestions would be awesome.

I don't know how close it gets, but for my money Met-RX bars are among the best. Their protein make up is devoid of soy (from what I can tell). 320 calories/bar (depending on flavour) with 34 g protein. Not that much fat but if you want more you can get a teaspoon of vegetable oil! The carbs aren't as junk-like as those in detour bars (though detour are fantastic in taste with good protein quality).

Best bet - make your own.

My last home made protein bar experiment tasted pretty good, but was more like protein pudding. I need something to take to school.

This one is pretty tasty:

I like this one when I'm on the go:
Strawberry-Banana MRP

STRAWBERRY & BANANA MEAL REPLACEMENT BARS
Makes 6 bars
1 cup raw oatmeal
5 scoops of strawberry protein powder ( 90g of protein)
1/4 cup fat free cream cheese
1/2 cup non fat dry milk powder
2 egg whites
1/4 cup water
1 1/2 bananas, mashed
2 tsp. canola oil (this is the secret to moist bars instead of the traditional dry bar)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray a 9x9 square pan with cooking spray & set aside. In a med.ium bowl combine oatmeal, Protein powder & dry milk. Set aside. In another bowl beat together with an electric hand mixer, cream cheese, egg whites, bananas, water & oil. Add the oat mixture & continue to beat until the two are combined. Pour batter into the prepared pan & bake for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

If you're worried about "cooking" whey protein then go for 200-250 for about 60 mins.
