Politics aside, these people live in apartments and real houses, right? So, once they leave and are paid by the gov't for their property, what happens to their apartments? Does the palestinian authority have a raffle or give the houses to their favourite people or what? It seems weird to leave one's home and then have a stranger just move in!

I'm sure the housing will simply be available to be purchased in the same way as if a new apartment complex opened...there are people, there are dwellings, people purchase them and live in them.

The one family houses are useless to the Palestinians, who have lots of people who need homes. Part of the deal for the withdrawal was that the Palestinians would destroy all the old homes and replace them with housing units meant for a denser population.
