Could anyone recommend a machine that tells you your body fat %? I'm having trouble locating one online. Doesn't need any bells and whistles, kind of simple. Cheaper the better too. :D
I'm sorry if i'm posting too much. I hope other people can benefit from my posts too.

I like my Tanita scale for right now. Maybe when I get down below 20% body fat I'll want something more precise. They aren't cheap though. If I remember right mine was around $100.

Yeah I was thinking a scale would be inaccurate. Are calipurs the most accurate?

The calipers are good but it takes a lot of practice to get consistent readings with them. I got the myotape only because it was free but I'm really impressed with it. I get much more precise measurements with the myotape. My problem with the regular tape measure was that I could never remember exactly how tight I pulled it the last time. Just a little bit of difference in pressure could make me "gain" or "lose" a half inch around my waist. The myotape is spring loaded and tightens itself which takes my guesswork out of the equation.

I use both a Tanita scale and digital fat calipers. I started with the scale, but started getting some odd readings while bulking. Plus, the amount of water in my body made it vary quite a bit from day to day. But it was a convient way of tracking fat.
I added the calipers about six months ago, and they also vary a bit, but I tend to trust them more. My Tanita scale has two modes - "Adult" and "Athletic." The difference between the two is pretty cryptic, and even a couple of calls to Tanita didn't do anything to clear it up. The idea is that athletes (fuzzy definition there) have less water in their muscles overall than non-athletes, so it sort of down-grades the fat reading. Wheter I qualify as an athlete or not is questionable, but I have it on athlete setting now because that reading is closer to what my calipers say than the plain adult setting. I have noticed, however, that the Tantia reading and the caliper readings, while being about two points apart, do vary up and down pretty much in sync, which is reassuring.

I bought a Tanita scale a few years, and it's always read about 10% higher than when I get my body fat tested with calipers at the gym.
