View Full Version : Miami Ministers Making Moves to Minimize Mass Fat
williamso Mon, August 8th, 2005, 01:12 PM williamso vs. onmyway
For 3 months (August through October), two ministers in Miami, Fl are trying to lose fat. We will journal our progress here. It is hard to lose fat when part of your job is going out to eat with people, and hosting people for meals at your home, and eating with people at their homes. But we're going to try.

Are you ready onmyway? Let's do it!
slush_puppy Tue, August 9th, 2005, 11:57 AM You've got some tough competition there, onmyway! Do you have any goals set for the end of three months? Good luck to both of you! :tucool:

you're right williamso is the real deal. I just hope that I can keep up. I would like to get to 14% BF. I hope to eat 4-5 meals per day that average 500 calories. This will be hard because I have no idea what a 500 calorie meal looks like. I have been reading the forums to try to get educated on the discipline of eating. I plan to lift 3 times per week and cardio three times per week. We'll see where this gets me at the end of the 3 months.

slush_puppy -- thanks for the encouragement. good to see you back. hope everything is well, our challenge together was quite transformational for me. Thanks again, as always.
ok, I've been floundering for several weeks, I've lost some ground (there are some good reasons, I think), but I'm back in gear, and ready to go.
Today
197.5 lb.
45 minutes fasted SHIT (see below)
Clean meals, plenty of water planned
SHIT is Steady Higher Intensity Training. I struggle with the slow pace of LISS, and I've gotten good results from keeping my heart rate between 80 and 85% of max for 40-45 minutes at a time. In the last 5 minutes I usually bring it up to 85-90%, with the last minute up to 95% for a few seconds. I use an elliptical machine.

Lousy. Holding steady on bf and weight. I had a big party at my home last night. We were celebrating the new home and the start of a new endeavor for me and my wife -- a few years (probably) of very stressful and very rewarding work, hosting abused, neglected and abandoned teenage boys in our home. Anyway, my diet was completely gone, but I brought the whole wheat bread and tuna to work this morning. I'm all ready to get back on the wagon. Exercise starts again tomorrow morning.

I know I said it before, williamso, but that's great work that you and your wife are doing... and it will surely have many stresses. Great job on just brushing yourself off and picking back up. That's probably one of the hardest things to do, topped only by getting started in the first place.

Hi guys, are there mulligans for challenges. It would be great to start over. I have been doing lousy on my first challenge ever. Can I have a mulligan? if not, then forward into the challenge.
