View Full Version : I think I found a rock in my Kashi...
TheLemonSong Thu, August 4th, 2005, 04:36 PM I poured out my Kashi Crunch today and there was this really hard bit a little bigger than a nickel that was all grey. I tried to eat it but it was ROCK solid (at first I thought it was just a strange piece that had come out of the machine wrong or something)..it wasn't all that sweet and I couldn't chew through it...I called the company but the folks were out of their offices so I just wrote them an e-mail and left them my contact info...I don't really care, but its possible that someone else would get something similar and it could really cause damage to someones teeth if they didn't see it before hand.
Anyone else have a similar experience?
michael2938 Thu, August 4th, 2005, 04:41 PM I found a finger in my chili once. Oh wait... no, that wasn't me. :)
I eat Kashi Heart to Heart and I've not had a problem.

I like heart-to-heart a LOT better than Crunch...that stuff is too hard int he first place..also, that lady lied about a finger in her chili and she'd done that to several other companies too.

That just reminded me, I have had the Crunch one time and I remember it was very hard! I liked it though. I will probably switch back once I get tired of Heart to Heart.

JeremyWildcat Thu, August 4th, 2005, 07:02 PM That's interesting, good thing you weren't chomping away too hard when you hit it.
I thought the same thing about Crunch, tasty but way too hard. It took me a long time just to eat a bowl, which isn't good when you're in a rush like I always am in the morning. I prefer the regular Go-Lean. Haven't tried Heart-to-Heart, I think when I looked at the nutitional value it wasn't as good as Go-Lean.

Just eat it dude, rocks have a fantastic macronutrient profile. Kashi knows exactly what they're doing.
JK2005 Thu, August 4th, 2005, 08:05 PM lol..I guess you mustve found a real hard 'kashi' not a rock
I prefer the Go-lean over Heart to Heart. If I remember right, the Go-lean has more protein and less fat/carbs per serving. It also has more fibre. I need to check the specs again but I think my memory aint that bad :p 1/2 cup of Kashi with milk at 8 am keeps me VERY FULL till my next meal (at 12:30 pm).

I'm not 100% convinced it is a rock...but I'm sure it wasn't a real hard "kashi"...it was some type of aberation. I soaked it for a long long time and it was still rock-solid! I couldn't have bit through it if i wanted to...That said, WTF is a "kashi" anyways?
Next time I buy Kashi cereal it will be the regular Go-Lean, I've tried them all and heart-to-heart and the regular are about the same.

TheLemonSong Fri, August 5th, 2005, 01:02 AM I decided to soak it in really hot water...STILL super-hard!!!
I wrote the company an e-mail just to let them know so someone else wouldn't accidentally bite in to it..I certainly hope no one does!
