200 Pounds, ripped n'healthy!!! (http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/BDog231/01.jpg)

It's doable guys! One thing to remember, if you diet be sure to remember *THIN DOSE NOT = HEALTHY*. I've struggled with eating for many years and I think the biggest head game I've ever had to get past was letting myself eat AFTER a diet.

Your body adapts to the lack of food available and before you know it you've trained yourself to eat in a way that dosen't support your body. Once you give in to the need for calories (it's inevitable, dieting is like holding your breath) you *MUST* let go of the dieting and embrace a stable/healthy caloric intake. I hit anorexia and didn't even know it at one point. It's very real and easy to slip into if the desire to loose weight is strong.

6 higher carb/protein/low-healthy fat meals a day is the absolute best way to come off an Atkins/Keto style diet. Maintain that for about 3 to 4 weeks and your body will be well on it's way to good health!

Loose skin sucks and it's there after any big weight loss (for most), but I can tell you right now it's not a big deal. As your body settles into it's new body weight you fill out with water/muscle and the skin tightes up. You end up looking pretty normal as you start eating again.

I noticed that as I ate more carbs my skin started to tighten greatly. If you bulk just right, the second time you cut the loose skin should go away as if you never had it. This is my next project, to cut up, then do a 110% clean bulk that includes lots of exercise's that focus on tone and cardiovascular health.

I've not bulked to perfection yet though and I still have a pouch of the sort that's insanely easy to hide (under armor shirts work magic). You kinna end up with that "smaller version of you" look, though I'm extremely tight most everywhere now.

I used to be embareassed about the skin but after having been with a few ladies and asking for their opinions, I got a consistant "WTF are you talking about, you're hott, stop trippin".

I wanted to look like the RULE in my sig pic but after a shit load of cutting, bulking, working out, back and forth it's just not attainable after having been so heavy. I mean maybe it is for some, but I'm a heavy set guy so I've settled for the middle ground and hope to hit it just right one day.

The hardest part about all of it is control what you eat after a cut. Once that appitie is switched back on it's pretty tough to ignore the signals your body is throwing at you. Understandable, but what you do after the cut is generally the most important part of a body transformation. It happens to be the hardest part for me.

You say after a cut is most important, do you mean trying not to go overboard thinking you can eat anything now because you are trying to gain mass? That would be the biggest challenge for me since I set a deadline for 9% by Sep. 6th and Im subconsciously looking very forward to letting loose for a little :eat: :d_biggrin

Overboard is an understatement . I suppose it's my fault for pushing myself to POW status, but boy is it rough rebuilding the body in a controlled fashion after a huge weight loss.

The key is balance/abundance of the exact form of fule your body needs. Eat 6 times a day, making sure your glycogen levels are topped off to keep that hunger at bay for a few weeks.

Overall all you can really do is hope your calorie level doesn't pass 2500 to 3,000 each day and do your best not to OD on the foods you've been missing out on for so long. Allow yourself to eat one item a day that's junk and do your best to pay attention to the fact that you need to be focusing on foods that will rebuild your muscle structure, not re-fill those fat stores

I've never been able to do it perfectly, I'm hoping one day I get there, but I'm pretty happy with what I've done so far. Just keep trying!

Im hoping the last third of 2005 won't end up being giant big cheat day... God knows ill want to eat Ben and Jerry's nightly and get my alcohol tolerance back, but its sweater season and getting back to cutting will be resfrshing by January.

You are an example to anyone who says it can't be done or they don't have time or they are "just big boned" or its too hard or any other excuse people have. You have done something very amazing that very few are able to do. You are elite. You now have the tools to be a success in any venture you so desire. A GREAT BIG CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!

What was your bodyweight in the 2nd. pic?

180, I'm a big frikin dude to look like that at 180 pounds.

great work. just out of curiousity, how long did it take you to lose it all? I am in my third month of what I expect to be a 10-14 month cut down to about 200ish.

About 10 months on Atkins to get to 180. Once I hit 240 I started running 3 miles a day without fail (this is where the recomposition took place). Keep in touch with me on your weight loss, I'd love to help you out in any way I can.

When I was in your position patients and and a *no looking back* but humble attitude was key. I'd get pretty upset about the fact that I was overweight and to be honest I was quite depressed. I did a lot of praying, a lot of thinking about what I wanted in life and really just made a decision in my head that I was going to do this no matter how much pain I went through. I think the biggest tool I had was that no looking back attitude, I mentally turned myself into a bad ass who pictured myself as being in shape one day through hard work. When the rough points came I felt extremely humble about it all. I made sure to be thankful for whatever progress I made, and never took a prideful stance about any of it, just thankful. Shed a few tears, felt better, got on with the work.

Certainly a life changing experience.

I think my girlfriend at the time was a huge inspiration for me as well. She was cut as cut can get for a girl, on the swim, polo ADN track team. Always took good care of herself and ALWAYS wanted to be around me. What the heck was she doing with a 350 pound dude???? Who knows. . . ., we had a lot of fun though. I guess I was one of the lucky ones to find out people love people for who they are, not what they looked like early on. That gave me the self acceptance on the spot and all I was left with is what I could do to better myself.

Dude - very impressive. And don't count yourself short. You have an impressive base to build your "RULE" physique on - a year or two down the road you'll need a stick to beat the ladies off with.
